Is Nazism Still Alive?

Brad MacdonaldColumnist
September 11, 2008 | From theTrumpet.com
History shows Nazism went underground after World War II. How long will it be until it reemerges to torment the world again?

“One day we shall come back. Until then, à bientôt.”

Those ominous words—à bientôt, “bye for now”—were spoken by an anonymous German military spokesman on Nazi radio on Sept. 1, 1944. By that time, defeat was knocking on Hitler’s door. But that didn’t deter one of his cocksure officers from going on radio to forecast the future resurrection of the Nazi death machine. Think about that: The slaughter-fest that was World War ii wasn’t even over, and the Nazis were declaring their return!

The most frightening thing about that man’s sinister prophecy is that he was not alone: At the end of World War II, tens of thousands of Germans believed and hoped Nazism would one day return to haunt the Earth.

In fact, documented history proves that as World War II came to a close, Nazi leaders actually began to make elaborate preparations for the future resurrection of Hitler’s Nazi death machine!

That might sound absurd to the Western ear.

That’s because most people today believe Nazi Germany was utterly defeated by the Allied powers. That’s understandable. Photos of postwar German cities and countryside show a razed nation. The German nation was well and truly thrashed by the Allied powers.

What too few understand today is that Nazi ideology and the Nazi movement—which caused World War II—were never eradicated!

Since the Second World War ended, a steady stream of evidence has surfaced proving that the Nazis—even as early as 1943—concocted and enacted a strategy to perpetuate Nazism after the war ended. This history is not being discussed in classrooms or written about by modern (revisionist) historians, or used as context in observing current trends in Germany. We can bury the truth through neglect, but we can never negate it.

The truth: The Nazi movement that caused the Second World War became a thriving underground movement.

Herbert W. Armstrong, editor in chief of the Plain Truth magazine, was among the first to report on the Nazis’ efforts to burrow underground. One of his strongest warnings occurred after the war on the night of May 9, 1945, while he was attending the landmark United Nations conference in San Francisco. Mr. Armstrong told listeners of his World Tomorrow radio program that night that while the battle against Nazism was over, the war against Nazism was not (emphasis mine throughout).

We don’t understand German thoroughness. From the very start of World War II, they have considered the possibility of losing this second round, as they did the first—and they have carefully, methodically planned, in such eventuality, the third round—World War III! Hitler has lost. This round of war, in Europe, is over. And the Nazis have now gone UNDERGROUND. In France and Norway they learned how effectively an organized UNDERGROUND can hamper occupation and control of a country. Paris was liberated by the French UNDERGROUND—and Allied armies. Now a Nazi underground is methodically planned. They plan to COME BACK and to win on the third try. …

This Nazi underground will introduce a new kind of internal warfare and sabotage, to divide and conquer! It will stir race hatred, class prejudice, strife among ourselves, religious bigotry while professing to champion religious tolerance especially toward the religion of the coming United States of Europe.

What bold, sweeping statements!

Some today disregard those statements because they believe they were only based on Bible prophecy, which, as Mr. Armstrong taught for decades, speaks of a coming resurrection of Nazi Germany. Those critics ought to study history. Bible prophecy definitely underpinned Mr. Armstrong’s powerful statements, but those statements were and are powerfully substantiated by a widening stream of documented evidence.

Herbert Armstrong was not alone in warning that the Nazis had gone underground.

In 1945, the British Ministry of Economic Warfare estimated that the Nazis looted nearly $27 billion from the European nations they had conquered. As the war came to a close, most of that loot was stashed away by the Nazi Party for the financing of international underground activities for the years to come. In 1945, in a book titled The Plot Against the Peace, Michael Sayers and Albert E. Khan exposed the vast preparations by the Nazis during World War ii to take their movement underground:

Since 1943, Nazi money, jewels and other valuables have been streaming across the Reich frontiers and finding their way by clandestine channels into Spain, Switzerland, Sweden and North and South America. … With these vast hidden sums at their disposal, the Nazis have already reconstituted and reorganized their wartime international fifth columns and set up new propaganda agencies and terrorist leagues for the postwar period.

Get that: The German General Staff, which historically has been a blend of industrialists, Junkers, and political and military leaders, was making plans to perpetuate Nazism underground after the war as early as two years before World War II ended!

“The German General Staff,” wrote Sayers and Khan, “has always regarded military defeat as merely a temporary phase of the war. The war goes on. Battle strategy becomes underground conspiracy; artillery is replaced by propaganda, wartime espionage becomes postwar political intrigue, terror, assassination and secret preparation for new military attack.” Study German history. You’ll see that is precisely what occurred during the 20-year hiatus between World Wars I and II.

World War I never ended in the minds of many of the German General Staff. The guns stopped blasting and the soldiers limped home, but the war never stopped. War preparations merely went underground, and for a season artillery and rifles were replaced by propaganda, politics and economics. “Even the final decision of war is not to be regarded as absolute,” wrote influential 19th-century German military theorist Karl von Clausewitz. “The conquered nation often sees it only as a passing phase, to be repaired in after times by political combinations” (“Vom Kriege,” meaning, “On War”).

Politics and economics have been as effective as instruments of war in the hands of the German General Staff as guns and bayonets.

Edwin Hartrich wrote about this reality in The Fourth and Richest Reich, a book exposing in detail the postwar economic revival of Germany and the nation’s remarkable and rapid transformation from a bombed-out country to the largest and most influential economy in Europe. A journalist specializing in European affairs during the Second World War, Hartrich describes the surprising lack of Nazi leaders in Germany by the end of the war.

Allied forces found plenty of Nazi soldiers and sympathizers as they began to occupy Germany, he said, but they were surprised at how little evidence there was of Nazi leaders and organizations. Hartrich explained this surprising dearth:

It was soon obvious that many high-ranking Nazis, especially members of Himmler’s dreaded Gestapo, the SS, and S-D organizations, had disappeared; they were hiding behind false identification papers until such time as they could escape to South America or some other receptive asylum for ex-Nazis.

Nazi leaders had made plans to flee Germany months, even years, before Allied tanks and soldiers moved in to occupy the German state. These Nazi leaders, many of whom were incredibly rich and extremely well-connected, fanned out across Europe and the globe. More importantly, very few had any plans for retirement. Many sought to perpetuate their evil craft and became eager participants in the globe-encompassing Nazi underground!

Among the evidence testifying to the Nazis’ desires to rise again were the warnings of Soviet leader Josef Stalin. Notice what he told his people, and the world, on Nov. 6, 1944:

After the defeat of Germany she will, of course, be disarmed, both in the economic and military-political respects. However it would be naive to think that she will not attempt to restore her power and develop new aggression. It is known to all that the German leaders are already now preparing for a new war ….

Remember, Stalin and Hitler had a warm relationship prior to World War II. Russia and Germany even signed a non-aggression pact in 1939, and many fretted in the early months of the war that Moscow would actually side with the Germans. Stalin understood Adolf Hitler and had terrific insight into German history and Nazism: He knew that Germany would attempt to restore its power and that Nazi leaders, even during World War II, were preparing for another war!

Further evidence of the Nazis’ efforts to take their movement underground surfaced in 1996, when the American government released a newly declassified U.S. intelligence document. Arthur Spiegelman wrote about this document for Reuters on May 10, 1996:

Realizing they were losing the war in 1944, Nazi leaders met top German industrialists to plan a secret postwar international network to restore them to power, according to a newly declassified U.S. intelligence document. The document, which appears to confirm a meeting historians have long argued about, says an SS general and a representative of the German armaments ministry told such companies as Krupp and Röhling that they must be prepared to finance the Nazi Party after the war when it went underground. They were also told “existing financial reserves in foreign countries must be placed at the disposal of the [Nazi] Party so that a strong German empire can be created after the defeat.”

The document, detailing an August 1944 meeting, was obtained on Friday from the World Jewish Congress, which has been working with the Senate Banking Committee and the Holocaust Museum to determine what happened to looted Jewish money and property in the Second World War. A U.S. Treasury Department analysis in 1946 reported that the Germans had transferred $500 million out of the country before the war’s end to countries such as Spain, Switzerland, Lichtenstein, Portugal, Argentina and Turkey where it was used to buy hundreds of companies.

It’s important we note the composition and scope of this underground Nazi movement. It was more than the relocation of a few SS officers and political leaders, or the purchase of a few companies by which Nazi loot might be laundered. It was a large-scale calculated dispersion of thousands of Nazi industrialists, scientists and political and military leaders to various locations and regions around the world. With billions of dollars in purchasing power, Nazi leaders bought hundreds of companies around the world and filled many of them with former Nazis willing to perpetuate the Nazi dream of world domination.

Unlike the German state, the underground Nazi movement at the end of World War II—with billion-dollar bank accounts and a vast network of influential business and political leaders around the world—was positioned to thrive!

Those who accept this reality now come face to face with two pressing questions: Is Nazism still alive today? And, how long before it reemerges to torment the world?

The best way to answer those questions is to look toward the “more sure word of [Bible] prophecy” (2 Peter 1:19). Regular readers of the Trumpet know there are multiple prophecies in the Bible referring specifically to a soon-coming German-dominated European empire. If you haven’t already, you can learn about many of these prophecies in Germany and the Holy Roman Empire. A prophecy in Daniel 8 is particularity fascinating when considered in the context of the underground Nazi movement and its soon-coming emergence onto the world scene.

Read verses 23 through 25: “And at the latter end of their kingdom, when the transgressors have reached the fullness, a king of fierce countenance and understanding dark trickery and craftiness shall stand up. And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power; and he shall corrupt and destroy astonishingly and shall prosper and do his own pleasure, and he shall corrupt and destroy the mighty men and the holy people. And through his policy he shall cause trickery to prosper in his hand; he shall magnify himself in his heart and mind, and in their security he will corrupt and destroy many” (Amplified Bible).

These scriptures are referring to the emergence of a brutal regime in the end time that will be headed by a “king of fierce countenance.” Consider the terms used by the Prophet Daniel: He’s clearly talking about a fierce, conniving and evil man, and an organization that thrives on deceit and trickery, brutality and corruption. Are there any better terms to describe the Nazis and their efforts to burrow underground at the end of World War I?

“In times of chaos and social upheaval,” wrote Edwin Hartrich, “men of vision, daring and talent find sudden buoyance and rise through the turbulence to the surface of events.”

Watch Europe. Germany and the European Union are experiencing chaos and social and political upheaval right now. Conditions are ideal for the emergence of a daring and talented visionary, a man with a fierce countenance and prone to trickery and deceit. Bible prophecy says this man will soon emerge on the world stage. When he does, will he have connections to the Nazi underground?

Berlin's Secret Pact With Moscow

Stephen FlurryColumnist
August 22, 2008 | From theTrumpet.com
What it means for the United States and the rest of the world.

In a speech given on Monday to students at Herbert W. Armstrong College, editor in chief Gerald Flurry said that Russia’s attack on Georgia earlier this month signaled the beginning of a dangerous new era in history. As columnist Robert Kagan put it, “Historians will come to view Aug. 8, 2008, as a turning point no less significant than Nov. 9, 1989, when the Berlin Wall fell. Russia’s attack on sovereign Georgian territory marked the official return of history, indeed to an almost 19th-century style of great-power competition, complete with virulent nationalisms, battles for resources, struggles over spheres of influence and territory, and even—though it shocks our 21st-century sensibilities—the use of military power to obtain geopolitical objectives.”

To counterbalance the revival of Russia’s imperialistic aims, as we have been warning over the past two weeks, look for the German-led European Union to rapidly accelerate its drive toward militaristic unity! And as we have been saying for years, this resurgence of both power blocs—called the king of the north and the kings of the east in Bible prophecy—will result in a non-aggression pact between Germany and Russia modeled after the 1939 Molotov-Ribbentrop agreement.

This has been the lesson of history. As my father told HWAC students during his lecture, every time competition intensifies between Russia and Germany, the two historic foes form an alliance with one another. But they don’t last long. The strategic agreements are made just before the outbreak of full-scale war!

Where We Are Headed

Basing his projection on the sure word of Bible prophecy, 47 years ago, Herbert W. Armstrong said that Russia would one day frighten Germany and the rest of Europe to “lose confidence” in America’s ability to protect them from the Russian bear (co-worker letter, Oct. 23, 1961). This, he said, would result in two things: hastening the development of European unification and the establishment of a non-aggression pact between Germany and Russia.

Mr. Armstrong’s flagship publication, the Plain Truth, offered this analysis in May 1962: “When a Russo-German deal is made, you can be sure that the doom of the United States and Great Britain is on the horizon. A German-Soviet agreement—a second Rapallo—would be the greatest disaster which could befall the West.”

After Mr. Armstrong’s death in 1986, the Trumpet magazine lifted his mantle and continued proclaiming his same prophetic warning. Even before Vladimir Putin grabbed hold of Russian power and revived its imperialist goals, the Trumpet declared: “Russia is back, albeit economically wounded, and swallowing its pride momentarily ….”

You would be hard-pressed to find any other news source predicting the resurgent rise of Russia in 1999, when it was entangled in civil war and wallowing in economic impoverishment. The Economist, for example, wrote on Dec. 18, 1999—on the eve of Russian parliamentary elections:

Reform of Russia’s dreadful economy—smaller now than that of the Netherlands—has, for instance, barely been mentioned [in parliamentary debates]. … Cynicism abounds, especially about the corrupt new order that has replaced the coercively deadening old one. It is matched by dismay at the degradation into which Russia has sunk, even though most Russians—Communists included—know that a return to a Soviet-style past is unthinkable.

What a different take than what we had at theTrumpet.com! “With Russia looming again on the horizon across the Polish plain, Germany gets the jitters,” we wrote in June 1999.

Germany will never trust nato in a European adventure again. Apart from this, Germany has never, ever trusted Russia! So—revive the old Ribbentrop-Molotov pact! … We believe that a similar pact will soon be concluded between Russia and Germany.

Four years later, in August 2003, we wrote,

Russia currently faces a choice between a stronger alliance with the EU or the U.S. Putin is at a crossroads, but political and economic possibilities reveal which direction he will take. Now the strategic partnership between Russia and German-led Europe will further solidify both power blocs’ global weight. It will help propel Europe to superpower status.

Then, just last year, we posted an article under the headline, “Russo-German Pact Imminent.”

In April of this year, we wrote about the prophesied rise of both Germany and Russia. “Germany is conquering the Balkans, and Russia has its eye on Georgia,” we said four months ago. “As these powers compete against each other, watch for a new Molotov-Ribbentrop pact to emerge. It may be that dealings are already under way to conclude such an agreement.”

This week, my father made this statement to our HWAC students: “I believe it is very likely Germany and Russia have already cut a deal.” He continued,

I believe Germany may well have been complicit in Russia’s plan to attack Georgia! If Russia formed an agreement with Germany over the Georgia situation, then Russia would know the only possible other nation it would have to be concerned about is the U.S. And Russia knew that America was too weak to do anything about it!

That was Monday. On Wednesday, Stratfor filed this prophetically electrifying report about the crossroads Germany is now at in Europe:

Berlin is now reassessing its allegiances to Washington and NATO, which would keep the country locked into the policies it made as an occupied state. Or Germany could act like its own state and create its own security guarantee with Russia—something that would rip NATO apart. …

Stratfor sources in Moscow have said that Medvedev has offered Merkel a security pact for their two countries.

Stratfor has yet to confirm the report, but history and prophecy tells us everything we need to know, even if there is still some question about the timing.

What we know is this: Germany’s relationship with nato is nearing its end! As Stratfor notes, “[I]f Germany and Russia make some sort of deal, it will be open season on American influence in Europe.” An independent, 10-nation superpower is rising out of Europe that will soon force all American military personnel to withdraw from the Continent.

Then, the German-led Euroforce is prophesied to turn against the West, catapulting the whole Earth into a nuclear World War III— so says your Bible!

Now understand the significance of these latest prophetic developments. Over the past two centuries, every time Germany has double-crossed the West, it has first entered into a non-aggression pact with Russia in order to shore up its defenses to the east.

What this means, as my father told our students on Monday, is that the secret non-aggression pact between Germany and Russia—a deal that may already be in place—is not a sign of peace.

It is a precursor to war!

Germany: Second-Largest Single Donor in Kosovo

July 15, 2008 | From theTrumpet.com
Germany continues to follow its blueprint for control of the Balkans.

At an international donors conference in Brussels last week, the international community pledged €1.2 billion toward the construction and development of Kosovo’s democratic structures, particularly its ailing economy.

Germany alone pledged €100 million for 2008 and 2009, making it Kosovo’s second-largest single donor after the United States.

According to an an official German press release, Germany and Kosovo will cooperate in energy supply and water and waste management, two key strategic sectors, as well as promotion of energy efficiency and administration reform. Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci said his country “scored an extraordinary success” at the conference, stating that the “investment in Kosovo is an investment to build a modern country and a multiethnic society.”

The irony of Thaci’s statement is striking, considering Kosovo’s declaration of independence in February completed the deconstruction of the former Serbia-led Yugoslavia, which was once a thriving, modern, multiethnic country. What isn’t surprising is that Germany is throwing its support (monetarily and politically) behind Kosovo’s decision to establish itself as a fully fledged, independent nation.

Fact is, Germany has been precipitating the dissolution of Yugoslavia since the first Balkan crisis in the 1990s. Yugoslavia first descended into civil war in December 1991 when Croatia and Slovenia—with support from Germany and the Vatican—declared their independence from the Yugoslav government. Since that time, Bosnia, Macedonia and Kosovo have also declared their independence, with each receiving backing from Berlin.

Germany’s ongoing investment in Kosovo demonstrates its position as the new master of the Balkans and is part of what editor in chief Gerald Flurry has termed Germany’s “master plan.” That master plan is swiftly unfolding toward a shocking and dramatic conclusion. To learn about this conclusion, read The Rising Beast—Germany’s Conquest of the Balkans.

Is Germany Conquering Latin America?

Is Germany Conquering Latin America?
May 23, 2008 From theTrumpet.com
Economic ties that German corporate agents have been actively establishing in Latin America are about to give the European Union a network of colonies. By Andrew Miiller

Germany is investing in Latin American industry as never before. The Latin Business Chronicle reports that German daughter companies are producing 10 percent of the Brazilian industrial gross domestic product. Meanwhile, German industrial giant ThyssenKrupp AG is constructing a $4.6 billion giant steel-producing complex that will actively transform the mineral wealth of South America into vast amounts of steel products to be sold throughout Germany and Latin America by 2010. By that time, it will have taken 13,000 laborers a full four years to build.

Yet this massive investment project is about a whole lot more than just steel production. It is also about political cooperation between Germany and Brazil. The cooperation that is taking place between ThyssenKrupp AG and the Brazilian government is a means to further cement a business relationship that began all the way back in 1837. When Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva came to visit the steel mill construction site this past February, the Chairman ThyssenKrupp’s steel producing arm, Dr. Karl-Ulrich Köhler, delivered a speech that recalled these long-standing ties. After recalling this history, he added, “The steel mill, which involves an investment of €3 billion, will be a solid basis for the continuation of these excellent relations.”

It is these “excellent relations” that have prompted German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier to call for a “partnership on eye level” with Latin America—and it is “excellent relations” that convinced German Chancellor Angela Merkel to tour Brazil, Colombia, Mexico and Peru from May 13 to 20.

The Latin Business Chronicle further reports that Latin American trade with the EU is growing at twice the rate as its trade with the United States. As the U.S. economy dips into recession, Latin America will be forced to become even more reliant on Germany and the European Union as both a trade partner and source of investment. Indeed, German trade alone across the entire Latin American region has already risen to a value of $55 billion as of last year—making Germany Latin America’s largest trade partner in the EU.

The Flag Follows Trade

To see where this economic “goodwill” is leading, it is helpful to understand the mind of the founder of ThyssenKrupp AG in the post-World War ii world. Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach was the executive director of ThyssenKrupp’s predecessor organization, Fried Krupp AG, from 1943 until his death in 1968. Possibly more than any other man of his era, he understood that economic relations could be a precursor to political conquest. He once said that his corporation would reverse the old adage that trade follows the flag. In a new, postwar German Reich, the flag would follow trade.

Alfried Krupp and other major German industrialists used their company’s exports to strengthen Germany’s economy and to increase its political influence over other nations—especially resource-rich nations that could serve as an industrial base.

As the richest and most powerful figure in the European Economic Community (established in 1957), Alfried Krupp helped lay the foundation for the economic relations that culminated in the founding of the European Union. As one of the first Western European industrialists to establish business contacts with the markets of Eastern Europe, Krupp helped lay the foundation for the European Union’s eastward expansion after the fall of the Soviet Union. As one of the first to recognize the importance of establishing trade contacts with Latin America, he set in motion a process of economic conquest that has now culminated in Brazil being earmarked as ThyssenKrupp’s largest site of foreign investment.

The flag follows trade, and if history is any indication, Latin America may well be the next global region to fall prey to an expanding European Empire—an empire with Germany as its heartland. As T.H. Tetens wrote in his book Germany Plots With the Kremlin, “South America will be conquered by business agents, not by guns.”

History of the Krupps

Krupp’s family has played a vital role in German industry for the last 500 years. Indeed, the Krupp dynasty of industrialists has been dubbed the “Uncrowned Kings of Essen” because of their historic role as the leaders of German industry and arms production. Anton Krupp produced 1,000 gun barrels per year for Germany in the Thirty Years War (1618-1648). Friedrich Krupp dug the trenches for Napoleon once Essen allied with France (1812). The Krupps produced the cannons that the German states used in their bombardment of Paris during the Franco-Prussian War (1871). Alfried’s father, Gustav Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach, was the only German to be tried for war crimes after both world wars for his role in producing weapons of war for both Kaiser Wilhelm and Adolf Hitler. Alfried worked closely by his father’s side throughout the Second World War until he was arrested by the Allies, convicted at Nuremburg, and imprisoned for war crimes (William Manchester, The Arms of the Krupp).

Even before Alfried’s arrest in 1945, however, he was already planning how his corporation, could help establish a strong, postwar German Empire. A shocking World War II intelligence document released by the U.S. government in 1996 reveals that a certain “Dr. Kasper” was sent as a representative of Fried Krupp AG to a covert meeting of German industrialists that took place on August 10, 1944, in Strasbourg, France. The purpose of this meeting, and its follow-up meeting, was to instruct German industrialists how to conduct “a postwar commercial campaign.” This campaign was to “finance the Nazi Party which would be forced to go underground” and to ensure that “a strong German Empire [could] be created after the defeat.” Specifically, these industrialists were told to strengthen Germany “through their exports” and to “make contacts and alliances with foreign firms.” Alfried definitely took the instruction to heart.

Perhaps even more shocking than what is revealed in this intelligence document, however, is the fact that the Allies released Alfried in 1951 and actually let him reassume sole proprietorship of Fried Krupp AG in 1953.

Upon reassuming control of his company, Alfried immediately went to work strengthening Fried Krupp AG (and Germany) by establishing new export markets in Eastern Europe, Africa and Latin America. His business genius was such that after 10 years, he entered the European Economic Community as its richest individual and single most powerful industrialist. Alfried had been accused of war crimes, bloody-mindedness and unrepentant Nazism, but no one could ever accuse him of disloyalty to his corporation.

Although Alfried died in 1968, with his personal copy of Mein Kampf still on his nightstand, his corporation continued to follow the path he had set for it. Fried Krupp AG went public as Krupp’s protégé Berthold Beitz became the chairman and executive member of the Board of Trustees of the Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach Foundation in Essen (the foundation that as of 2005 held 23.58 percent of the voting rights in ThyssenKrupp AG). Beitz still holds this position—as well as that of Honorary Chairman of Supervisory Board of ThyssenKrupp AG. Under his leadership, the corporation lost much of its public association with Nazism. What it did not lose was its unswerving devotion to the ideal of a globally dominant postwar Germany. Everything is going just as Alfried Krupp and Dr. Kasper planned over 60 years ago.

Germany’s Latin American Industrial Base

Today, as talk of the German-led EU as the next global superpower abounds, Germany needs the natural resource wealth of Latin America more than ever. The entire region from the Rio Grande to Terra del Fuego is a giant storehouse of timber, natural gas, crude oil, minerals, precious metals, and especially iron. It is easy to see why Germany has worked so hard to set new trade records with nations like Mexico, Brazil and Argentina.

Latin America is far more important to Germany as an industrial base than as a simple trade partner. The total value of goods and services produced by German daughter companies in Brazil is four-fold the value of actual German exports to Brazil. If the investments of other EU nations like Spain are considered, these figures become even more stunning. Europe as a whole may only be Latin America’s second greatest trade partner (behind the U.S.), but it is definitely Latin America’s greatest investor.

In addition to ThyssenKrupp AG, German corporate giants such as Siemens, Bayer, Volkswagen, I.G., Farben, and Deutche Bank have also become household names across Latin America as German business agents imbed themselves throughout Mexico, Central America and South America. By investing in a country rather than just simply trading with it, German business agents are ensuring that they have a far deeper stake in a region that supplies them with machines, vehicles, car components, electo-technical equipment, pharmaceuticals, chemical products, plastics, and especially metal.

As the Plain Truth magazine forecast in July 1965, “Flowing across the Atlantic to feed the hungry furnaces of the Ruhr and the other industrial complexes of Europe will come the rich mineral wealth of Latin America.”

Europe’s Next Colonies

Economies across Europe and Latin American are booming as America enters recession. For the first time since the Great Depression, the collapse of the U.S. currency is a definite possibility. If the dollar were to collapse, the economic reverberations would shake this world’s financial systems to their cores. Britain, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Israel would all experience economic meltdown. The nations of Asia, which are based on American consumerism, would suffer, at least temporarily. The only self-sustaining economic bloc at that point would be Europe. Countries across Latin America (and Africa) would have no option other than complete reliance of the economic ties that a German-led EU is currently establishing with them. Either in name or in effect, the nations of Latin America would be virtual colonies of a European empire.

Actually, the collapse of the dollar may even be expedited by the current trade relationship being established between Latin America and Europe (especially Germany). Even now, Latin American free trade blocs such as Mercosur are looking to establish free trade agreements with the EU. As the Plain Truth said in May 1962, “The United States is going to be left out in the cold as two gigantic trade blocs, Europe and Latin America, mesh together and begin calling the shots in world commerce. The United States is going to be literally besieged—economically—frozen out of world trade.”

This colonization of Latin America has been in the planning for decades. The same Plain Truth article reveals, “Nazi agents, many of them disguised as ‘legitimate’ businessmen, were rampant throughout South America even before WWII.”

These “agents” did not just disappear from Latin America when the war was lost. As a matter of fact, the indication is that the number of these “agents” was greatly increased after the war as the odessa project allowed SS officers and Nazi Party members to escape from Germany to Latin America through Vatican ratlines. After all, it was determined at the August 10, 1944, meeting of Nazi industrialists mentioned above that the Nazi Party would place “its less conspicuous but most important members in positions with various German factories as technical experts or members of research and designing offices.”

The groundwork that these Nazi business agents laid during the later half of the 20th century is being exploited by the merchants of the European Union as they expand their political influence around the world.

According to biblical prophecy, Germany’s colonization of Latin America is a greater threat to the U.S. than Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Osama bin Laden and Vladimir Putin combined. Besides the threat of being frozen out of world trade and the prospect of facing economic starvation, the presence of a European power in Latin America poses the much greater treat of literal invasion. That is why the U.S. used to enforce the Monroe Doctrine—to keep European powers out of the New World.

Biblical prophecy reveals that God will use Assyria (Germany) as the rod of His anger to punish the people of Israel (America, Britain, and Judah). For proof of this, please read Isaiah 10:5-6 and our booklet Nahum—An End-Time Prophecy for Germany. Germany’s takeover of Latin America would put European forces directly on the southern border of the U.S. and present an ideal scenario for a full-scale invasion of America.

Germany and Japan allied against China

Newsletter 2007/10/02 - Strategies of Attrition (III)
LHASA/BEIJING/ULAAN BAATAR/BERLIN (Own report) -
Last weekend, parliamentarians of the Germanophonic minority in Northern Italy ("South Tyrol") visiting the headquarters of the Tibetan "exile government" in India, declared Tibet's being part of the People's Republic of China to be "illegal" and called for the secession of this Western Chinese autonomous region. South Tyrolean public authorities are collaborating with forefront organizations of German foreign policy and have been counseling the "exile government" for several years on questions of German "Volksgruppen" (ethnic group) policies. A member of the current delegation is demanding the secession of "South Tyrol" along the lines of the Montenegrin model. These attacks on China's territorial integrity are coming just a few days after the German government launched its anti-Chinese offensive. Berlin is supporting Tibetan separatists also through large scale lobbying in Mongolia and is seeking to pit the populations of all autonomous regions in Western and Northern China against the central government. Similar political concepts date back to the 1920s and are being echoed still today in Japan, the former Axis partner of the German Reich, and China's fiercest rival.

Germany on the Rise, Merkel on the Wane

Football fever focused global attention on Germany during the first half of last year as the nation hosted the soccer World Cup tournament. This year it was the double whammy of Germany’s dual presidencies of the European Union and the G-8 (group of eight major world economies) that have placed that nation in the world spotlight. These three events have combined to strengthen a renewed national self-confidence in Germany.

Commenting on Germany’s hosting of the 2006 World Cup, the German team coach Jürgen Klinsmann declared in a television interview, “This World Cup was a huge success for the team and for all of Germany. We showed the world another face of Germany” (Spiegel, July 5, 2006). Endorsing Klinsmann’s comment, the German tabloid Bild stated, “[T]he party must go on! We have to keep up the sense of renewal, the self-confidence, the good mood for our everyday lives. This was just the momentum we so urgently need to face the tough tasks ahead.”

Well, it seems the party did go on. Renewed confidence in business investment has powered the German economy forward this year, substantially reducing unemployment, producing a rise in consumer spending and, despite the comparative strength of the euro, leading to a surge in sales of German products overseas.

Strutting the World Stage

From January to June, Germany strutted the world stage with its presidencies of the EU and the G-8. Despite achieving results far short of Chancellor Merkel’s declared expectations, the EU’s 50th anniversary celebrations in March, followed by the G-8 and EU summits in June, did give Germany widespread international media publicity.

In the foreign-policy arena, through some deft maneuvering by Chancellor Angela Merkel—including cuddling up to the United States and standing up to Russia’s President Vladimir Putin—Germany’s star rose to heights unprecedented since the fall of the Berlin Wall.

But there is an element currently on the rise in European politics that has historically proven dangerous for Europe and the rest of the world. Europe is once again swinging right politically. As Stratfor recently observed, “The right has yet to grasp power in Europe, but it will not be long before the conservatives consolidate their hold on the Continent” (June 8).

The danger that looms as a specter from Europe’s war-torn past is that, as Stratfor continued, “A right-leaning Europe could be united under one leader, particularly since the states are brought closer together by common problems such as immigration and economic reform. But it remains to be seen which state will emerge to lead, and in what direction” (emphasis mine throughout).

The most obvious contender is Germany.

Regarding this possibility, Stratfor wrote, “[A] recent economic renaissance has given the country the opportunity to forge a consensus in Europe and to further its own agenda. For the first time in decades, Germany is a full and powerful member of the European community. More important, for the first time in centuries, there is no established political regime in Europe to counter German ambitions” (ibid.).

Germany Speaks—Europe Reacts

Stratfor has a longer memory than most of our foreign-policy merchants. Note this crucial observation of a unique fact of European history: “For now, [Germany and the U.S.] are more or less on the same page …. But do not confuse the temporary alignment of interests with a permanent state of affairs. Sure, the United States currently sees Russia as a rival and Germany as an ally. Yet this situation is an aberration in both U.S. and European affairs. All of European history is a tale of Germany either expanding or being contained” (ibid.).

The big difference this time, in its third attempt within a century to achieve pan-European dominance, is that Germany has used economics, international trade and finance as the main weapons of choice, rather than force of arms. Recent examples of this are two political/economic initiatives enacted over past months and a third currently being discussed—all German ideas—that should further bind Europe together, economically and financially, under Berlin’s aegis.

The first was a move by Merkel (showing more political courage than the previous chancellor, Schröder, who failed on this point) to initiate a long-overdue restructuring of Germany’s corporate tax base. The law, which significantly cut corporate taxes, passed on March 14. Stratfor called it “the latest in a string of planned and coincidental developments [most predating Merkel’s chancellorship] laying a lasting foundation for Germany’s geopolitical renaissance” (March 15).

The second initiative builds on the effect of the German-instigated European means of exchange, the euro, which continues to gain strength in international trade. Further consolidating the German idea of centralized financial control, Berlin has engineered the introduction of an EU-wide unified payments system, the Single Euro Payments Area (sepa). Beginning in January of next year, all electronic payments throughout the EU and the European Free Trade Association will be considered domestic, saving the European economy an estimated 2 to 3 percent of its gross domestic product. “In terms of its dimension and significance, this revolution in European payments is comparable only to the introduction of the euro,” said Hans-Joachim Massenberg, deputy ceo of the Association of German Banks.

Germany’s centralizing economic and financial agenda, through forced implementation of the single European currency, the euro, combined now with sepa, is speeding the death of the long-cherished individual national sovereignty of EU member nations.

But the third initiative may be the most significant, particularly because of the manner in which it entered political discussion.

The European Commission announced in July that it intends to take a hard look at threats from external sources—notably Russia and China—moving to buy up slices of European businesses. Stratfor commented, “A public musing last week by German Chancellor Angela Merkel was what prompted the Commission decision” (July 20).

What was particularly startling about this was, as Stratfor observed, “the fact that the Commission so quickly took up Merkel’s idea. Merkel’s term as EU president expired June 30, yet here we are three weeks later and her off-the-cuff comments are still setting the agenda …. Fifty years later, Germany has found its voice—and possesses the gravitas to set policy without even making a request. That has got to make a few stiff European upper lips unconsciously quiver” (ibid.).

Note that Stratfor speaks of Germany finding its voice. It’s not so much that Chancellor Merkel made these remarks that triggered the European Commission’s response. In fact, the signs are that Angela Merkel’s leadership of her coalition government may soon be under threat. But it was the fact that Germany spoke that moved the Commission to respond!

Merkel on the Wane

The chancellorship of Angela Merkel has reached its peak. Riding the wave of popularity courtesy of a sequence of foreign-policy opportunities that fell to her advantage, the German chancellor is currently one of the most popular leaders on the world scene.

Her presiding over the EU and G-8 presidencies thrust her into the limelight during the first half of the year. But since mid-year, Merkel has returned to a more mundane agenda—that of keeping her coalition partners under control and her nation’s population content.

Merkel set herself what many thought was an unachievable agenda for her EU presidency. It largely proved to be the case, with her almost sole success being in the area of energy policy, and the prospect of such an agreement was already a given. The energy-strapped EU is between a rock and a hard place, trying to balance its dependence on Russia’s energy sources on one hand against finding reliable sources of supply from the volatile Middle East and unreliable Africa on the other. So reaching general agreement to do something about seeking alternative sources of energy was an easy romp for Merkel.

In terms of economic and social policy, Merkel was blessed with a resurgent German economy during her term as EU president, reducing discontent in both capital and labor. This permitted the chancellor the luxury of seeing much of the rest of the EU seemingly benefit from her government’s economic and social policies.

When it came to obtaining a common agreement and seeking the signatures of the 27-nation EU membership on a declaration of its key values, Merkel was in for a real struggle. The wheels really started to fall off as the 50-year anniversary of the European Union drew near and no such agreement was in sight. All Merkel could achieve was a bland document, the Berlin Declaration, crafted behind closed doors by the chancellor, European Commission President José Manuel Barroso and EU Parliament President Hans-Gert Pöttering, with these three as sole signatories. Hardly a satisfactory result!

Merkel’s next grand opportunity to demonstrate her foreign-policy panache came just over two months later, with Germany’s hosting of the annual G-8 summit. Dovetailing her G-8 presidency with the European Union presidency gave the German leader the opportunity to influence a number of major challenges under consideration by those eight countries which together combine 65 percent of the total world economy. The U.S., Canada, Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and Russia met under Merkel’s leadership in the German coastal resort of Heiligendamm in early June. Also present were representatives of the European Commission and five African nations.

This was the type of forum at which Chancellor Merkel’s foreign-policy skills were supposed to shine. However, the results of the conference, though hailed as a success by Merkel, failed to impress many observers. A Swiss daily reported, “Angela Merkel wanted to fight poverty, give globalization a human face and stem climate change. She succeeded in none of these” (Basler Zeitung, June 8).

In late June came the European Union summit that would bring to a conclusion Germany’s six-month presidency. This presented a final opportunity for Chancellor Merkel to produce a success that would place the stamp of approval on her period in the presidential office.

Even before they arrived in Brussels, the contentious leaders of this unwieldy EU monolith were sounding warning bells about the disputes that would pepper this summit. The summit turned out to be a predictable debacle in many respects, especially with Poland reminding Germany that its Nazi past had reduced its population by a third, so a population-based voting system under the reform treaty would most certainly unfairly favor Germany!

Frau Merkel is now back in her own national domain. And, given the fact that she topped the crest of her wave of popularity mid-year, she has now but one way to go. “‘Merkel is at the peak of her power but it can’t get any better for her,’ said Gerd Langguth, a political scientist at Bonn University and author of a biography of Merkel. ‘Germans are happy with her foreign policy but less than enthused about her performance at home, and that could be a real problem.’ With memories of her government’s unpopular health-care reform still alive in the minds of many Germans, polls show half the population disapproves of Merkel’s domestic performance—a weakness the struggling [Social Democrats] will try to exploit” (Reuters, June 25).

Coalition governments in Germany historically do not last very long. If Merkel’s coalition lasts the remaining two years of its tenure, given the rumbles that already are coming from within its ranks, it will be a wonder to behold. History simply argues against it.

Waiting in the Wings

In the event of the Merkel coalition collapsing, there is a highly successful, politically polished, conservative Catholic premier from Bavaria whom it appears will have time on his hands following his retirement at the end of September: one Edmund Stoiber.

Earlier this year in Berlin, I interviewed one of the six Bundestag vice presidents, Gerda Hasselfeldt, a member of Stoiber’s Christian Social Union (csu). I asked her about the future of a retired Stoiber. “A return to the present functions or related functions is hard for me to visualize,” she responded. “On the other hand, I also cannot imagine that he will occupy himself only with his hobby, namely soccer. … What is he really going to do afterward?”

“Perhaps a European Union post?” I offered. Frau Hasselfeldt responded, “I don’t exclude that there are also interesting positions in the national or international arena to which he may bring his rich experience and also his ready vitality.”

Hasselfeldt’s musings are interesting in light of a report from the Eurasia Daily Monitor, which, commenting on Stoiber’s July visit to Russia’s President Putin, observed, “Apparently, Stoiber seeks to ascend to international status as a mediator of sorts, following his scheduled retirement in September 2007 after 14 years in office” (July 9).

Of special interest in regard to Stoiber mulling his future was his outspoken statements made in Moscow concerning German foreign policy. These statements publicly placed him at odds with Merkel on the issue of America’s desire to place an anti-missile defense structure in Poland and the Czech Republic. In a sign of possible things to come, the Bavarian premier declared, “The position of Germany, of its government, in any case my [Bavarian] government’s and my party’s position, is entirely clear: We are in favor of the [Russian] solution.” However, as the Monitor pointed out, “Stoiber is not known to have been authorized by the German government or by the csu to speak on their behalf, and the Bavarian government is not authorized to conduct foreign policy” (ibid.).

Obviously Stoiber was not fazed by such details.

His outspokenness in Moscow certainly does not indicate that retirement is on the mind of the “pit bull” of German politics! Stoiber would have loved to have had the foreign affairs post in Merkel’s coalition government, but all that was on offer from the chancellor was the sticky economics portfolio. Stoiber declined, and his domestic political star has been sinking ever since. Yet perhaps he has his eye on a higher office: the job of leading the entire European Union!

“Putin coyly remarked that his secret services could not figure out why Stoiber was retiring. However, it is common knowledge that the Bavarian leader is losing his rivalry with Merkel within the main governing party and is sometimes playing spoiler against her. Apparently, Putin hopes to play on such rivalries, both within the cdu/csu and between the latter and its junior coalition partner, the Social Democrats, where Schröder-era holdovers retain a strong influence on foreign policy” (ibid.).

It just so happens that the EU reform treaty that has emerged for debate from the German presidency of the EU has created two new positions, each of which may be of interest to Stoiber: an EU foreign minister, and a permanent EU president. Should Stoiber be offered the foreign minister post, it could provide an ideal platform for him to place some runs on the board to then tout for the top job of EU president at a later date. Then again, perhaps this highly successful Bavarian politician, cast in the mold of his mentor, Franz Josef Strauss, intends to take nothing less than the top job.

Will Chancellor Merkel’s lasting legacy be the creation of the very office that will empower the prophesied leader of a globally dominant European power? The indications are that we may not have to wait long to find out!

In the meantime, Germany’s foreign-policy initiatives are clearer as each month goes by, especially with the government signaling that it will strengthen Germany’s role in the Middle East peace process, recent moves to intervene in the dispute between Russia and the West over Kosovo, and intentions to increase German involvement in Africa. Then there’s the increasing deployment of German military forces in both combat and support roles on foreign soil. Germany’s fighting forces, contained within Germany’s borders up to the time of the Balkan wars, are now deployed in numerous theaters throughout Europe, Eurasia, the Mediterranean and Africa, not to mention their training bases in Canada and the U.S. The German High Command—which was once supposedly banished by post-World War ii leaders, never to rise again—has been reactivated. Voices within the German government are now calling for the nation to drastically increase the size of its military as a major contributor to a European armed force.

All of this newfound power behind Germany’s increasingly strident political voice reminds us of an observation made by Stratfor earlier this year, at the mid-point of Germany’s presidency of the EU. Commenting on the achievements of Germany’s reconstruction since unification in 1991, Stratfor’s European analyst declared, “Taken together, these structural changes are creating a new Germany that is geographically and economically united, and politically confident—something that Europe has not seen in decades. That just leaves Germany without one other thing it has not seen in decades: a robust military” (March 15).

Given the bloody history of past German “robust military” forces, much more than just stiff upper lips may quiver at the prospect of a revival of such an institution!

The Atlantic Times attacks Israel

Israel's Only Way Out: Follow Kahane!
by David Ben-Ariel

Israel must make concessions, Israel must do this, Israel must do that, while the Arabs continue to get away with mass murder and terrorism (while promising peace and feigning ignorance), aided and abetted by the international community.

The Atlantic Times repeats the list of delusional demands upon the Jewish homeland in "The Only Way Out: A Stringent Policy of Peace" that completely ignores history and the facts on the ground: Israel has no peace partners; Israel has no peace but only an ongoing war of attrition; the entire lying "peace process" is all part of the phased destruction of Israel that the Israelis have insanely enabled to continue. This harsh reality will soon blow up in the faces of those who have chosen to remain in a state of denial, repeating the big lie of Palestine as the proffered solution.

"Israel must reach an understanding with Syria," drones the asinine article written by a German Jew in a self-imposed exile from the Promised Land of Israel (contrary to Judaism), and then exposes such an "understanding" amounts to total Israeli surrender of the biblical territories of the Golan Heights (inheritance of Manasseh, son of Joseph) for more worthless promises and toilet paper agreements.

"The Jewish state must completely pull out of the occupied territories, abandon the settlements there and recognize East Jerusalem as the future Palestinian capital."

If Rafael Seligmann, the suicidal author, wants to slit his own throat or offer his head to the Nazi-Muslims, so be it. However, such murderous slander against biblical Judea and Samaria (occupied by covetous Arabs), such hateful incitement against Jewish pioneering communities (let RS take an armed stroll through the destroyed Jewish towns near Gaza, victims of Judenrein policies), and such treacherous talk against Jerusalem, the eternal capital of Israel, must not be tolerated! A self-respecting Jewish country would rebuke such nonsense (whether its from writers or world leaders) and unequivocally reject such an invitation for disaster.

Shame on Seligmann for his defeatist bile that spewed, "Now that the military option has been exhausted, Israel must safeguard its future through a brave policy of peace." What a schizophrenic statement! Israel has never truly utilized their military option but have always been restrained by world opinion and lucrative bribes.

If the Israelis won't properly defend themselves, they can never enjoy peace but will suffer open season against Israeli men, women, children and babies in strollers with further calls for appeasement and surrender. The German-Jesuit EU knows this full well, and wait in the wings to occupy Jerusalem as "peacekeepers." However, the EU is not a savior but a destroyer. The Vatican purposely exploits the Arab-Jewish conflict to breach Israeli sovereignty over Jerusalem and will soon influence agents to invoke the accursed UN Resolution 181.

The aforementioned "Seligmann Column" of Jewish self-loathing, deliberate deceit and shameful collaboration with hostile elements, crumbles when examined in the brilliant light of history and the Bible: The Israelis were offered the only way out when Meir Kahane, rabbi and former Knesset Member, reminded them of the Law of Moses that teaches peace through strength, treating sworn enemies like sworn enemies and restoring the Temple Mount (Judaism's holiest site) as the Temple Mount without apology or hesitation (Malachi 4:4).

It's past time the Israelis come to their senses and acknowledge Kahane was right and succeed, following the direction of the Torah, or the Jews will continue to suffer escalating consequences for disobedience and Jerusalem will suffer defeat (Daniel 9:11).
