Israel's Converging Crises

Israel’s Converging Crises
by Brad Macdonald

War is brewing between Israel and Hamas again. Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert admitted as much on Tuesday, telling reporters, “I have no doubt that the situation between ourselves and Hamas is in a stage of inevitable pre-confrontation.” War is unavoidable, he said, “it is merely a question of when and not a question of if.”

Grim news.

It gets worse. Fact is, war with the lethal Iranian proxy is just one of a handful of major crises and potential crises converging in Israel.

East and north of Israel, the Arab world is energized and in a state of flux as it counts down the days to January 20 and the beginning of what it believes will be a more lenient, more exploitable era of American foreign policy.

South of Israel, the moderate “Israel friendly” government of Egypt teeters on the brink of political turmoil as Hosni Mubarak’s star wanes.

The picture is similarly grim inside Israel, where the Palestinian population, frustrated and furious (at each other as well as Israel), is primed to explode, and the Israeli government is paralyzed by political gridlock awaiting the outcome of the upcoming election of a new prime minister.

As these crises develop, the United States—Israel’s staunchest ally and the nation it would normally lean on for assistance in solving these issues—has embraced as president a man who will almost assuredly further diminish America’s support of the Jewish state.

Remember, that’s all in addition to Israel’s inevitable, perhaps imminent, war with Hamas!

Crisis One: Palestinian Unrest

The Trumpet reported recently on the mounting tension between rival Palestinian political parties Hamas and Fatah. Hamas, the terrorist organization that won control of the Palestinian Legislative Council in elections in 2006 and that now controls the Gaza Strip, is insisting that Palestinians elect a new president in January. But Fatah, led by current Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, is worried that it might lose even more political influence, particularly in the West Bank, and says elections should not occur till 2010. Relations between the two became so heated earlier this week that reconciliation talks scheduled for next Monday in Egypt had to be canceled.

Don’t think for a minute that this is strictly a Palestinian problem and has nothing to do with Israel. As the terrorist attacks this summer in Jerusalem proved, Israeli citizens are a target at which enraged Arabs sometimes vent their anger. Israel is also the ring in which these rival groups are sparring, and whatever the outcome of this intense feud, Israel will be the primary loser.

Watch this trend closely. It’s possible Hamas could soon call upon its many followers in the West Bank and mount a violent coup. Such an event would place tremendous pressure on Israel to confront Hamas to resist its incursion into East Jerusalem. This could quickly evolve into a major issue for nations competing for influence in the Middle East and become a major confrontation inviting foreign intervention.

The outcome of a Fatah-Hamas compromise wouldn’t be much different. Hamas has indicated that the only way it will work with Fatah is if it receives major concessions and influence in the Palestinian government. Should a coup be avoided and some kind of power-sharing deal be struck, Hamas will still have expanded its political reach and likely even established its political influence in East Jerusalem. Depending on the level of political cooperation, the radical terrorist group may even find itself with easy access to the substantial weapons caches Israel and the West have given to the Palestinian Authority.

Crisis Two: Egypt

In addition to dealing with the likely unrest and instability caused by climaxing Palestinian tensions, the Jewish state faces potential instability and chaos in Egypt, whose comparatively “moderate” stance and “friendly” relations with Israel have long proven key to a stable southern border and Israel’s national security. After nearly 30 years of rulership, the West-friendly government of Hosni Mubarak is on the brink of collapse. The Egyptian economy is in deep recession, with an inflation rate hovering around 22 percent and unemployment around 10 percent. Food prices are soaring. With much of its population hungry, jobless and angry, Egypt is vulnerable to social chaos and anarchy. In fact, unrest is already occurring in some places, and were it not for Mubarak’s tough responses, large-scale chaos would likely have already broken out.

Such conditions would challenge any leader. But Mubarak is an 80-year-old man in poor health. With his grip on Egypt slipping, it will take very little—a sudden sickness, a terrorist attack, riots—for the country to spiral out of his control, allowing pro-Iranian Islamist radicals to take over Cairo: an immediate nightmare scenario for Israel.

Egypt is a linchpin in Israel’s national security. The loss of the world’s oldest nation as a moderate ally, not to mention its transformation into a radical enemy, would jeopardize Israel’s existence.

Crisis Three: Political Gridlock

Concurrent with the Palestinian political pandemonium, Israelis themselves are preparing to head to the polls February 10 to elect a new prime minister. Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni was forced to call the snap elections recently after Prime Minister Ehud Olmert announced his resignation and she was unable to build a coalition government.

This means that for the next three months, Israel’s leadership will be distracted by what is proving to be a fierce and tight election race. The nation will exist in an even greater state of political chaos and gridlock than usual. Although Olmert continues as caretaker prime minister, he is a lame duck, and his decisions and promises will mean little. With Olmert’s leadership defunct and the identity of the next leader unclear, Israel is effectively rendered leaderless for the next three months.

The timing could hardly be worse. Now is a time when Israel needs a swift-footed, alert government. Now’s a time for political unity and a focused, discerning foreign policy. Now’s a time for leadership capable of articulately, ardently and arduously defending Israel’s interests.

Instead, Israel has a lame-duck prime minister, a divisive, distracting political campaign, political chaos and national political paralysis!

Crisis Four: A New American Administration

The election of Barack Obama to the U.S. presidency has thrust the Middle East into a state of flux. Across the region, Muslim states and organizations—from minor terrorist groups to activist organizations to regional behemoths like Iran and Saudi Arabia—are preparing for America’s new foreign policy. If we are to believe campaign promises, that policy will include more negotiation, diplomacy and compromise.

Last week, analysts at Stratfor noted, “Striking a balance between the need to reach a settlement with Iran (on Iraq, at least) and the need to maintain existing relationships with Israel and the Arab states could very well prove to be the most challenging foreign-policy issue that the Obama administration will find itself struggling with very early on in its term” (November 7, emphasis mine throughout).

Iran and some Arab states see in Barack Obama an opportunity to advance their interests. As Ralph Peters noted yesterday, they consider the president-elect “more favorable to their cause and less friendly to Israel.” Mahmoud Ahmadinejad even sent him a letter of congratulations.

Jerusalem Post columnist Caroline Glick wrote, “With Senator Barack Obama’s victory in the U.S. presidential race, the stakes have been raised for Israel’s February 10 general elections,” adding that dealing with Obama and America’s retooled foreign policy will be one of the toughest challenges for Israel’s next leader. “Whatever the Obama administration’s position on Israel may be, it will not be more supportive of the country than the Bush administration has been. And over the past year, the supportive Bush administration has decided not to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons and not to support an Israeli effort to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.”

President Bush has been one of Israel’s staunchest supporters ever. But, as Glick observes, even the Bush administration has failed to curb the Iranian nuclear weapons program—which is being pursued with Israel in mind—and has consistently refused to condone Israeli efforts to prevent Tehran from achieving its nuclear goals.

Glick continued:

If Israel’s next prime minister intends to prevent Tehran from acquiring the means to implement its stated aim of destroying Israel, he or she must be prepared to stand up to America. Indeed, the greatest diplomatic challenge he or she will likely face will be standing up to a popular new President Obama, supported by large Democratic majorities in both houses of Congress and the overwhelming majority of American Jewish voters.

Should right-wing Likud leader Benjamin Netanyahu become Israel’s prime minister in February, the fracturing bond between the U.S. and Israel might turn into a yawning chasm. Despite Bibi’s pleasant response to Obama’s election last week, the former Israeli prime minister and the president-elect have some fundamental issues dividing them, including the best way to handle Iran, the peace process, and the deeply sensitive issue of dividing Jerusalem. Should the more conservative Netanyahu be elected—and his chances look good—we expect Israel’s relationship with America to cool quickly.

That’s not to say U.S.-Israeli relations will not also suffer if the more liberal Tzipi Livni wins office. Speaking on Israeli Radio last Thursday, Ms. Livni attacked Obama for indicating a willingness to talk with Iran about its nuclear program. “Livni’s interview about Iran,” wrote Matthew Fisher last week, “underscored how seriously Israel regards Tehran’s nuclear ambitions and how worried many here are that Obama may not be as staunch an ally to the Jewish state as President George W. Bush.”

The German Solution

For years now the Trumpet has explained the prophecy in Hosea 5:13 pointing to a time when the Jewish state, besieged by crises, will feel compelled to turn to Germany for protection. (You can learn about the details of this prophecy by reading Jerusalem in Prophecy.) The reason Israel will be forced to rely on Germany, as Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry has explained, is that America by this time will have stopped supporting Israel!

“Who will Israel turn to when America removes its support?,” asked Mr. Flurry in January 2007. “This prophecy [Hosea 5:13] tells us that both Ephraim (Britain today) and Judah (the nation of Israel) will run to the Assyrian (Germany) for assistance. This prophecy speaks of a time when the U.S. will lack the power and the will to assist its allies.”

Bible prophecy indicates that events now unfolding that involve the tiny Jewish state of Israel are heading toward that very event.

Watch for embattled Israel to cast around for international help to fill the security vacuum created by its impending loss of American support. And watch for Germany to ratchet up its involvement in the Middle East peace process in order to fill that void. •

Mama Evans

Mama Evans

Erma Evans, a widow in the Church of God, served as a perfect example of what the apostle Paul called for from our senior women (Titus 2:3).

She touched the lives of many and was affectionately called "Mama Evans" by the young fellows of the Worldwide Church of God in Toledo, Ohio: Church singles whom she graciously would have over for a home-cooked meal every month.

Mrs. Evans knew all about southern hospitality since she was originally from Mud Creek, Kentucky. She would offer the meal, after we prayed, and would often then fall asleep on her couch, practically purring like a kitty, content as we fellowshipped and played board games or cards.

The following is a letter from "Mama Evans" that she sent me when I was living in Israel (August 1989), getting ready to begin a work-study program at Kibbutz Sdot Yam near Caesarea. It reveals a little more of this precious woman God blessed us with:

Dear David:

Just a few lines to say hello and that I miss you very much and get a thrill of thankfulness and joy when I can speak of having a son in Israel.

This must be a dream come true. All my life I have dreamed of going to all the far off places. I think I was born a wanderlust child.

Any place even as a little girl that I read or heard about it just filled me with desire to get up and go. Even today I feel the same way.

My Dad must have been the same way because his books of which he had many were about places all over the world.

He would talk to me even when I was 5 yrs. old about the far corners of the earth even China, but I never got any farther than Toledo.

But in the world tomorrow I hope to be able to flit from place to place. When I looked at the picture I could picture Christ walking on the shores of Galilee.

I pray for His Coming to rescue the world. It can't be too soon for me.

Everyone who knows you misses you. You are a special kind of guy. A little rebellious with a head full of dreams mixed with knowledge. There can't be another like you. I have a feeling you are very special to God.

Take care honey and don't forget all that you know of God's Truth.

Bye for now.

Love you,
Mom Evans

This letter shows how loving Mama was... She was always gentle but firm if necessary, but you never doubted she always had your best interests at heart. She used to say "a little love goes a long way, " "they need love the most who deserve it the least" and "tears purify the soul."

I was pleased to write this poem for her one Sabbath day (on the spur of the moment, wanting to help let her know how much we loved and appreciated her), and gave it to her at our Church of God services before I left, getting a big hug and kiss in return:

Mama Evans
Her warmth and love is known both far & wide
Her wonderful smile illuminates lives
Her sweet laughter uplifts many hearts
Helping both young & old she knows is her part
Giving hugs & kisses, making many meals
Veritable love feasts from a woman sincere
GOD BLESS OUR ERMA we need her so dear
Keep her close to your Kingdom
Help her bring You near.

Mama Evans, 89, died October 29, 1998. We know she rests in peace and awaits the First Resurrection.

Meanwhile, Mama lives on and shines through the eyes of those who remember her and have tales to tell of her from the heart.

Heil Obama!

Behold the mindless masses who blindly worship and adore their Marxist Messiah! Their NIMROD saviour from reason and sanity and personal responsibility. "Let the White Man's Burden be doubled or tripled," they pray to their god of darkness whose shadow covers the land.

Will a Black President Heal America's Race Wounds?

Will a Black President Heal America’s Race Wounds?
by Joel Hilliker

Seventy percent of Americans think Barack Obama’s presidency is going to help race relations, according to Gallup.

The majority, among all races, see this as a milestone worth celebrating—a true victory for civil rights. And after all the pre-election warnings about potential rioting in the streets in the event of an Obama loss, that concern went untested. The election came off smoother than any in recent memory. It produced a clear winner and a graceful loser. No lingering question marks. No violence.

Does the fact that America elected a black president end the argument that this is a racist nation? Everybody seems to have an opinion. Mr. Obama garnered more support from white voters than any Democratic candidate since Jimmy Carter. Still, some are convinced his victory would have been much larger if not for those whites who voted against him simply because of his skin pigmentation.

The idea that Mr. Obama’s victory represents the end of racism in America has also been loudly shouted down by some blacks. Their view is essentially, Why should whites get to decide that there’s no more racism?

While there were undoubtedly some whites who voted against black, this election also saw an opposite and more powerful trend: white people embracing Mr. Obama because of his race. His candidacy represented a promise to some whites that they could wash away the stigma of racism. Supporting him was a way to prove that they were not racist. Of course, there is a contradiction in such thinking, as black author Shelby Steele points out: “When whites—especially today’s younger generation—proudly support Obama for his post-racialism, they unwittingly embrace race as their primary motivation,” he wrote. “They think and act racially, not post-racially.”

Reality Check in Obamaland

Reality Check in Obamaland
November 10, 2008 From theTrumpet.com
While America dreams on in Obamaland, reality is about to strike at the G-20 summit in Washington this week.

Ron Fraser
America is no longer in the box seat when it comes to dictating policy to the world. That the United States is still by far the largest single national economy in the world, possessing the mightiest military force and dominance in space-age technology, is a given. That American national debt is preposterous both in its size and the nation’s inability to control it is the matter of daily headlines. That the U.S. is to blame for the global financial crisis is increasingly being declared as such by leaders in the world’s greatest single trading combine, the European Union, especially within Germany. That reality, and its consequences, will be vocalized, very stridently, by nations gloating over America’s demise this week at the G-20 summit in Washington commencing Saturday.

What really counts in international relations is not so much the reality of a nation’s power, but the perception by other nations of that power. And perceptions of U.S. power are rapidly changing around the world, especially since the results of the latest U.S. presidential election were posted.

The U.S. is a drastically divided nation politically. Barack Obama did not win the U.S. election by a landslide popular vote. Thus, there is still a very deep chasm between conservative and liberal voters in the U.S., notwithstanding the impression that the liberal press seeks to tout of a nation caught up in the spirit of Obamamania.

Dream on!

The fact is, there has seldom been a more opportune moment this century for America’s enemies to take advantage of its political, social and economic sclerosis to force their own will upon the U.S.

The perception of America that is spreading throughout world leadership circles, especially among America’s enemies, is of a nation that has had its day. A nation in a state of rapid decline—morally, socially and economically. A nation whose military force is stretched to the breaking point, with a drastically reduced capability to support its national goals, let alone play policeman to the world.

Enter the European Union, in particular the Franco-German connection.

“[T]he political class on the old continent has been upgraded to savior of the financial system …,” Spiegel wrote on October 28.

Those who have been watching developments beyond the shores of America ought to be struck by the new sense of urgency sparking the divisive EU into more affirmative action, with an unusual touch of unanimity, in preparation for this week’s summit of nations convened in Washington to discuss the global economic crisis.

Over the past month, it has been the EU leadership that has driven the agenda to establish a new system to regulate the global economy. The EU has held numerous conferences on the subject, its leaders have visited the U.S. and China and held talks also with Russian leaders to set the tone for Wednesday’s summit in Washington. Last week, EU states voted unanimously on a course of action they will present to the Washington summit, fully expecting that their lead in that forum will be respected and their recommendations accepted. The EU idea is to establish a new form of global economic governance following EU guidelines on the regulation of the global financial system. The Union is already firmly entrenched as a global leader in the regulation of business and commerce—to the extent that it has already extracted massive fines from global corporations that have infringed its onerous regulations. Thus, the precedents are set on which to further consolidate increasing control by the EU of global business.

“The EU agreed on Friday a general line to take at a Washington summit of world leaders next week, which includes initiating a period of 100 days to draw up proposals on reforming the international financial system.

“One hundred days after November 15, the date of the G-20 summit in the U.S., a new meeting is to be held to look at how much progress has been made on the goals” (TheParliament.com, November 7).

Of the Group of 20 principal nations meeting in Washington, only the European Union, acting as a federal body with a single voice, has an articulated strategy to lay before the summit. EU President Nicolas Sarkozy and Germany’s finance minister are laying the blame for the global economic and financial crisis squarely on America. Sarkozy, hinting at the anti-U.S. tone the EU will adopt at the summit, declared, “This is a world crisis, but we know perfectly well where it started. We will not allow nothing to be done. Europe will not accept an explanation that says nothing has happened” (ibid., emphasis mine throughout).

Yet, as all eyes turn to Washington this week for an inkling of just what form any new global system of finance and economic control might take, we would do well to ponder the current mood in Germany that this global crisis has created.

In Germany, two phenomena are have been catalyzed by the global economic crunch: a change in politicians’ thinking, and a change in the mood of the people. Both spell trouble for the future.
As Spiegel Online reported, “The effects of the worldwide economic crisis are leading to a new globalization in politics. German Chancellor Angela Merkel is seeking unity in Europe to deal with the financial crisis, while at home consensus and cooperation are the new watchwords. Is it the beginning of a new politics?” (November 3). Historically, crisis in Germany has always led to a “new politics,” with disastrous results. Too often that “new politics” has paved the way for a demagogue to take advantage of the national mood swing in times of economic challenge.
On the current mood of the people in Germany, Spiegel Online observes, “Rarely has the mood in Germany been so strange. It is as if Germans were living in two worlds, a real world in the here and now, and an imaginary world in an unpleasant tomorrow. The country, like the rest of the world, is in transit, and no one knows where the journey is headed” (ibid.).

The most prophetic result of the global economic crisis, relating to the European Union, is the opportunity it is presenting for the realization of a long-sought Teutonic imperial dream: the binding together of old Europe under a single economic government. Joschka Fischer, Germany’s foreign minister in the Schröder government era, was moved to make public his view that “Europe needs an economic government. The individual nations are simply too small to handle a crisis of this magnitude” (Spiegel Online, op. cit.). Unsurprisingly, Fischer thinks that European economic government should be modeled along Germanic lines.

Journalist Dirk Kurbjuweit comments on a new “politics of the backroom” having been stimulated by the financial crisis in Germany. “… Germany stands for the social market economy, with all of its rules and regulations,” he wrote. “[G]lobal policy for German politicians must, most of all, be integration policy in Europe. … Germany currently has something akin to a secret chancellorship. … [C]oncepts that compete directly with freedom are gaining in popularity: enforcement, control. … The overriding question, therefore, is this: How will freedom and control be doled out in the future?” (Spiegel Online, op. cit.).

How indeed?

With so much media attention being given to the president-elect in the U.S., few there be who detect the change in politics and the mood swing in Germany that is morphing out of this great global financial and economic crisis.

Watch the G-20 summit in Washington for a newly assertive European Union to force its way in the outcome of that vital conference.

Watch Germany as it faces a federal election in the coming year, with all state elections being conducted in the lead-up to that national election continuing to swing right as the mood in Germany changes.

And as you watch, remember the words of Herbert Armstrong, who declared that a strong and forceful leader would again arise in Germany amid great social upheaval triggered by the collapse of the global financial and economic system!

We would be foolish indeed to ignore these signs of the times and not prepare for the obvious.

Read our booklet Germany and the Holy Roman Empire for deeper insight into just what it is that is building before your eyes in the construct of the new global order in the wake of America’s decline. •

Jerusalem, Temple Mount, and the Third Temple

Will the pope act like Belshazzar or Cyrus?
Will Rome learn from history and receive instruction from the Bible or harden their hearts and be destroyed like pharaoh and Babylon?

A House of Prayer For All Peoples?
Jewish guards prevent Christians and Jews from exercising their religious right to pray on the Temple Mount? That's right! Only Muslims have unlimited access to Judaism's most holy site. Only the Koran is permitted within. The Tanach (Jewish Scripture, known to much of the world as the "Old Testament") and Christian Scriptures (the New Testament) are forbidden. Yet Israel claims to respect the religious rights of all people.

Major Upheaval in Israel?
Will an EARTHQUAKE shake Israel to its foundations and rock the world? Would the destruction of the Western/Wailing Wall and the demolition of the "Dome of the Rock" and Al-Aksa mosques—by an ACT OF GOD—serve further notice that it's time to build the Temple?

Third Temple Coming Soon to Jerusalem!
"And let them make me a Sanctuary that I may dwell among them" (Ex. 25:8). This holy command in the Scriptures seems clear enough, so what's the problem? Why has Israel tolerated Jerusalem’s "abomination of desolation" — a Temple Mount without a Temple? Why haven't the religious leaders encouraged the people to do what they can in fulfilling this mitzva?

The Temple of God in Holy Jerusalem
Paul, speaking of the imminent Third Temple, the holy TEMPLE OF GOD (the Temple of God - not just of the Jews or any other conspiracy theory that contradicts Scripture), that Europe's wannabe divine emperor will pollute, coveting it since Satan knows (even if some religious folks don't) it is the TEMPLE OF GOD...

Jews Must Demand Rights to Temple Mount
During a 1995 Root and Branch lecture in Jerusalem, Professor Nahum Rakover, author and then Deputy Attorney General of Israel, publicly agreed with me that it isn't illegal for Christians or Jews to pray upon the Temple Mount, even though it is forcibly prevented by the police.

The Issue of the Temple Mount
The common knowledge of our time is that the vast majority of Rabbis of this generation have prohibited the Jewish people from entering the Temple Mount (Har HaBayit), the holiest site in Judaism. The Temple Mount is the site of where the Beit HaMikdash (the Jewish Temple) once stood and the place where the Moslems have erected one mosque, the al-Aqsa and a site of pilgrimage, the Dome of the Rock.

Restore Israeli Sovereignty Over Temple Mount
The Wakf, the militant Muslim authority that oversees Jerusalem's Temple Mount, Judaism's holiest site and Islam's alleged third holiest site (following Mecca and Medina) continue to show blatant disregard for Jewish, Christian and biblical history and non-Muslim sensitivities.

Where's the Temple On the Temple Mount?
Something's missing. Rome is synonymous with the Vatican, Mecca with the Kaaba, and Jerusalem's known for its Western Wall. But why should we stand before the wall, letting it obstruct our vision, when we could be praying in a Temple? Why should Jews continue to bow before an illegitimate Gentile decree that tells them where to pray? (Isaiah 10:1).

The Vatican Must Return the Temple Treasures
The Jews have prayed for 2,000 years to again see the Temple upon the Temple Mount. It's past time for prayers alone: ACTION is necessary to put faith into practice!

G-d Doesn't Listen to Jewish Prayers at the Western Wall
Gershon Salomon warned Israel and its leadership that as long as the shameful situation on the Temple Mount continues, and as long as they do not obey the call of G-d, peace will not come to the land. The enemies of Israel will continue to desire her land and will pressure those in power to divide it. Obedience to the call of G-d will bring peace, all of Israel's enemies will be removed and no one will wish to divide or desire the land.

Why Edward Abington, Jr. Must Be Investigated!
"The American Diplomat in Arafat's Corner," published in The Jerusalem Report, came as no surprise to me. It was referring to Edward Abington, Jr., the United States' former consul general in Jerusalem who is now "guiding the Palestinians through the labyrinths of Washington. And his firm is being paid $2.25 million for his expertise."

Israel's Unjust Deportation of David Ben-Ariel
As a Christian-American member of the Temple Mount Faithful Movement, I had been privileged to participate in their legal demonstrations during my 10-month stay in Jerusalem awaiting dual citizenship. Israeli television often showed me with my Jewish friends carrying Israeli flags throughout the Old City.

Blow Up the Mosques or An Expired Visa?
Once again, an attempt to spread DISinformation about my unjust deportation from Israel, only provides me with another opportunity to clearly state my case and continue to highlight the plight of the Temple Mount suffering under a Nazi-Muslim occupation...

From Toledo to Jerusalem
You could say I have a God-given love for the Jews and the nation of Israel (Isaiah 62:6-7). That sacred bond has been strengthened over the years by the fact that I've been blessed to have lived all over Israel, getting to know its land and people quite well.

Dangerous Ideas?
During my brief appearance before Israel's High Court, the prosecution charged that I hold "dangerous ideas." I suppose the short-sighted prosecution would ban the Bible if he could since it contains the "dangerous ideas" that millions believe in! What are those "dangerous ideas?"

American Detained in Jerusalem's Russian CompoundNobody arrested me. I was detained when I faithfully reported to the police office at 9 a.m. Monday morning, January 9, 1996 (day before my birthday) the day after The Jerusalem Post published on their front page an article shedding light on what they were doing in the dark: "GSS Seeks to Deport American Citizen for Plot to Blow Up Al Aksa Mosque."

Temple Mount Faithful

Temple Mount Faithful Succoth and Hanukkah 2008

Be'Ezrat Hashem
With the Help of G-d

The Temple Mount Faithful Feast of Tabernacles Celebration - 5769/2008

In the midst of a critical time of redemption in Israel -- and during a very complicated time of trouble all over the world, the Temple Mount and Land of Israel Faithful Movement held one of its most exciting events in its campaign to build the Third Temple in our lifetime. Now, more than any other time in the past, our materialistic generation needs the G-d of Israel to dwell in the midst of our daily lives. This generation needs the light of G-d to shine into the darkness that is now spreading to the four corners of the earth. As was prophesied through the prophets of Israel, G-d chose this time to bring about His plans with Israel in order to begin the endtime redemption of the entire world.

In a time when so many people in the world are searching and seeking after materialistic achievements and serving the "Golden Calf", the Faithful Movement has been involved in intensive endtime activities. We have been seeking the spirit, the morals, the values and the word of the G-d of Israel. We have been demonstrating for the rebuilding of His Holy House in Jerusalem and for the coming of Mashiach Ben David in our lifetime.

This most recent event took place on Thursday, 17 Tishrei 5769/October 16, 2008, during the Feast of Succoth -- the Feast of Tabernacles.

The Succoth Festival is one of the most exciting holidays in the life of Israel. It is one of the three festivals during which G-d commanded Israel to make a pilgrimage to Jerusalem, to His Holy Temple. He called Israel to come that they would know His love for His people, and that they would show their love to Him. In this festival G-d calls His people to be filled with joy in the land that He gave them in an eternal covenant. As we marched to the Temple Mount on this day, we felt the Spirit of G-d covering us with great love. We felt like we were in heaven when we walked on the Holy Ground, the most holy place in all the world. This is the same place where Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, King David, King Solomon and all the prophets of Israel, along with many millions of Israelites, walked to show their love to their Father G-d. This is also the festival during which King Solomon completed the building of the First Temple. He dedicated and anointed it in an exciting ceremony, during which the Ark of the Covenant was brought up from the Tent of David and located in the Holy of Holies, on the Holy Rock of Abraham and Isaac (1 Kings 7:51; 8:12).

On the Temple Mount we could feel that time is short. We knew that the day of the rebuilding of the Temple is soon to come. Gershon Salomon called on the people of Israel to prepare themselves for this great day. He called upon them to stop praying and worshiping in the front of the Western Wall. He said to the people of Israel that G-d can no more accept the prayers outside of His Holy Hill.

He called the leadership of Israel to remove the pagan Muslim enemy and his shrines from the Holy Mountain of G-d, and to do it without delay. This is the call of G-d at this time, and we must answer His call without delay.

From the Temple Mount the Faithful, together with many Israelis and friends from outside of Israel, marched to the ancient City of David. We marched to the historic Pool of Siloam that was re-discovered a year ago. This pool and the accompanying tunnel were dug by King Hezekiah 2,800 years ago. This march renewed an exciting event that was celebrated by our forefathers during the Feast of Succoth, in the time of the First and Second Temple. At that time, thousands of pilgrims marched from the Temple to the Pool of Siloam to draw the Holy Water from the pool, while offering prayers to the G-d of Israel. They then marched back to the Temple to pour out the water on the altar, and to pray for a blessed year with much rain for the crops. This exciting event is described in the historical sources as the most joyful and most exciting event in the lives of the people of Israel:

"All the streets of Jerusalem were lit up with many lights. The High Priest and all the other priests, dressed in their beautiful garments, walked in front of the pilgrims, together with the King of Israel. The priests were followed by the Levities playing on the musical instruments, playing and singing songs. Jerusalem was emptied of people as they joined the marchers and danced all the way from the Temple to the pool."

The Temple Mount and Land of Israel Faithful Movement renewed this exciting event. The City of David, which again is being settled by Israelis, experienced this joyful and exciting event after being destroyed almost two thousand years ago. The surrounding mountains were once again witnesses to great godly events carried out by the children of Israel. They watched as the G-d of Israel regathered them back to the Holy Land and to Jerusalem, to rebuild His House and His Holy Kingdom.

The traditional ceremony at the Pool of Siloam started when a priest with the Faithful Movement drew the water using vessels that were especially made for use in the soon coming Third Temple. This was then followed by prayers, songs of the psalms and thanks to the G-d of Israel Who gave us the privilege of living in such an exciting generation.

After this joyful ceremony the Faithful marched again to the Temple Mount, carrying the water that was drawn from the pool, just as our forefathers had done. The water was poured on a large group of heavy stones which had been thrown down by the Romans when they destroyed the Temple in 70 CE. This is only a temporary measure; we will do everything we can to make sure that on the next Feast of Tabernacles the water will be poured on the altar in the rebuilt Temple, exactly as our forefathers did.

The Revival of the Holy Assembly of "Hakhel"

One of the most holy events held in the Temple was the "Holy Assembly of Hakhel". This assembly was held every seven years on the Feast of Tabernacles, after the "Smitah" year was finished ("Smitah" is the sabbatical year of the ground, when fields are left fallow every seventh year). It was a very exciting and holy event. Hundreds of thousands pilgrims, along with all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, gathered on the Temple Mount and inside the Temple. They would listen to the High Priest as he read the Commandments of G-d from the book of Deuteronomy, in the Holy Torah.

The event of "Hakhel" was one of the most exciting events during the times the Temple stood. Every one could feel the presence of the G-d of Israel so strongly, just as if G-d Himself was speaking to His beloved people Israel. The desire today of the people of Israel for the rebuilding of the House of G-d is also an expression of desire to once again experience this most exciting godly event.

From its very beginning, the Temple Mount and Land of Israel Faithful Movement decided to renew the events that are connected with the worship in the Temple so that we shall be ready to fulfill all of them when the Temple is rebuilt. The event of "Hakhel" was an important step towards this fulfillment. Because we could not do it this year on the Temple Mount, we held the event in front of the walls of the Temple Mount and the stones of the Temple itself. Our faces were directed to the Holy of Holies as we read the Commandments of Deuteronomy with great excitement. Two thousand years after the destruction of the Temple, the G-d of Israel could hear His People Israel reading His Word, with prayers that came from the bottom of their hearts. These were prayers for the rebuilding of the Temple in our lifetime, and for holding this exciting godly event next year in the right place, in the rebuilt Temple. We would like to present some of the Commandments that were heard at the Holy Hill of G-d on this special event of the Faithful Movement. Hopefully, this will express the godly atmosphere that covered us with love and blessed our hearts:

"You stand this day all of you before the LORD your GOD; your captains of your tribes, your elders, and your officers, with all the men of Yisra'el, your little ones, your wives, and thy stranger that is in thy camp, from the hewer of thy wood to the drawer of thy water; that thou shouldst enter into the covenant of the LORD thy GOD, and into his oath, which the LORD thy GOD makes with thee this day: that he may establish thee today for a people to himself, and that he may be to thee a GOD, as he has said to thee, and as he has sworn to thy fathers, to Avraham, to Yizhaq, and to Ya'aqov. Neither with you only do I make this covenant and this oath; but with him that stands here with us this day before the LORD our GOD, and also with him that is not here with us this day" (Deuteronomy 29:9-14)

"Hear, O Yisra'el: The LORD our GOD; the LORD is one. And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thy heart: and thou shalt teach them diligently to thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thy house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thy arm, and they shall be as frontlets between thy eyes. And thou shalt write them upon the doorposts of thy house, and on thy gates." (Deuteronomy 6:4-9)

"For if you shall diligently keep all these commandments which I command you, to do them, to love the LORD your GOD, to walk in all his ways, and to hold fast to him; then will the LORD drive out all these nations from before you, and you shall possess greater nations and mightier than yourselves. Every place whereon the sole of your foot shall tread shall be yours: from the wilderness to the Levanon, from the river, the river Perat, to the uttermost sea shall be your border. There shall no man be able to stand against you: for the LORD your GOD shall lay the fear of you and the dread of you upon all the land that you shall tread upon, as he has spoken to you" (Deuteronomy 11:22-25)

"For thou art a holy people to the LORD thy GOD: the LORD thy GOD has chosen thee to be a special people to himself, above all peoples that are upon the face of the earth. The LORD did not set his love upon you, or choose you, because you were more in number than any people; for you were the fewest of all peoples: but because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn to your fathers, has the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Par'o king of Mizrayim. Know therefore that the LORD thy GOD, he is GOD, the faithful GOD, who keeps covenant and troth with those who love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations; and repays them that hate him to their face, to destroy them: he will not be slack to him that hates him, he will repay him to his face. Thou shalt therefore keep the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which I command thee this day, to do them" (Deuteronomy 7:6-11)

This Word of G-d has a special significance at this time for all the nations in the world that still do not recognize and accept the godly event of the rebirth of Israel in the Land of Israel. These nations do not accept that G-d gave Israel this land by an eternal covenant for an eternal purpose: to be a holy nation, a kingdom of priests and a light to the nations (Exodus 19:5-6). This is the answer to all of those who want to divide the land of Israel and Jerusalem, and to establish a foreign anti-godly so-called "Palestinian State" of terror that will destroy the kingdom of Israel. This is also a lesson to the people of Israel to not trust any nation, power or human being; instead they must trust only in G-d, exactly as He called them to do. He promised to stand and protect them and to give them eternal life.

The Temple Mount and Land of Israel Faithful Movement will continue her godly campaign to build the endtime Temple of G-d on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem; and to remove from the Temple Mount -- without delay -- the pagan enemy of G-d and the people of Israel. The Faithful Movement will continue to educate the people of Israel to be a biblical nation in order that it will fulfill the mission that G-d gave them. Everyone in Israel and all over the world is called at this godly and critical time to give his hands, help, and support, and to stand with and participate in the historical campaign of the Temple Mount Faithful Movement.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: Hanukkah 2008

On Hanukkah, December 2008, the Temple Mount Faithful Movement will hold a very special and exciting event. This event will start at the ancient city and tombs of the Maccabees in Modi'in (25 miles from Jerusalem) and continue all the way to Jerusalem and the Temple Mount. We shall bring to mind the heritage of the Maccabees, who liberated the Temple Mount, Jerusalem and all of the Land of Israel from the control of the pagan Greeks. They purified the Temple and renewed the Holy worship to the G-d of Israel. This will be a lesson to the people of Israel and to all the world. More details and date will be shared later. Everyone that would like to participate in this important and exciting event is called to keep in touch with us and will be welcome and appreciated very much. Don't miss it!

Veteran's Day

God works in and through and for people at the same time. God has blessed us with the preservation of our freedoms through our veterans. Blessed be God and thank you veterans!

Onward Christian Soldiers!
Why did ancient Israel have an army? Was it because they didn't have faith? Did they believe in themselves instead of trusting God? Did they insist on fighting their own battles, rather than let God wage war for them?

Separation of Church and State? Says Who?
God calls upon our Israelite family of nations to RESTORE HIS LAW AND ORDER, and we'll receive blessing to the degree we love and obey and He will bless our NATIONAL EFFORTS that reflect national repentance, learning to go by God's Word as LAW, trusting in His wisdom, rather than leaning to our own understanding with all our different political parties of men.

God's One Government Has Two Branches!
The Sabbath-keeping Church of God (that remains faithful to the plain truth of the Bible that Herbert W. Armstrong taught) has heard a lot about government, but many seem to have forgotten that God's ONE government has TWO branches: Church (Priest) and State (King).

Should Christians Judge?
All judgment must be tempered with mercy. Jesus clearly taught that we can see others imperfections (the "mote" in their eye) and help to remove it once we have first gotten the "beam" out of our own eye. The purpose is to help and not hurt: constructive criticism, not self-righteousness or sinister motivations.

Steven Plaut outburst against David Ben-Ariel

Re: Steven Plaut's hateful rant against David Ben-Ariel

Rabin Day - Parts I and II (Steven Plaut's outburst)

****************************

Wow! Your hateful and murderous rant must leave you foaming at the mouth! The old SHOOT THE MESSENGER tactic rather than focus on the message - Shimon Peres came to power over Rabin's deady body.

How much does Shabak pay you to spew your distortions against those who love Israel and expose those who betray the Jewish homeland? 30 shekels? Don't you know they'll use you and then throw you away?

The Jewish Press has cheapened itself by permitting your Shabak propaganda to pollute their name, and honest folk, objective individuals, can clearly see you're not reputable when you're in denial of my legal name, David Ben-Ariel, you hysterically accuse me of being a terrorist (utterly refuted in From Toledo to Jerusalem), and other cheap shots that expose a desperation and an obsession.

Be very careful, Mr. Steven Plaut, or you might come up missing like their other agent provocateur Avishai Raviv who goaded patsy Yigal Amir to have his part in their plot: the staged assassination of Yitzhak Rabin whose blood still cries out for justice.

Miriam Weiss: Kibbutz Mother and Holocaust Survivor

Miriam Weiss, David Ben-Ariel
Pesach at Kibbutz Ramat Yohanan 1990

Miriam Weiss: Holocaust Survivor and Kibbutz Mother

Miriam Weiss: June 29, 1915 - January 4, 1997

On that precious list of "Righteous Gentiles" (rare individuals who assisted Jews during the Holocaust) is the great name of Jan Bulski who risked his life and family in Poland to save my "kibbutz mother" -- Miriam Weiss -- who I met and was "adopted" by at Kibbutz Ramat Yohanan near Haifa in Northern Israel while a volunteer there from October 1982 to February 1983.

This is an excerpt from my "Life is a Trek" blog article Kibbutz Ramat Yohanan, Restal Hotel, Tiberias, Israel -- a letter I wrote an American friend (without touching it up for spelling), July 27, 1989 from Kibbutz Ramat Yohanan, Israel:

"Miriam & I cried yesterday when she received a letter stating the man in Poland who hid her & saved her from the Gestapo & Holocaust, died. She opened up last week & told me what I hadn't known & how wealthy she was raised, how wealthy she married w/jewellery & furs & extensive rich contacts & travel in Europe & how happy she was, and had a cook for her & her husband & a maid also, & how after Hitler invaded Poland her husband immediately joined the underground buying weapons & insisting she move in w/friends for safety sake & how he was later captured by the Gestapo & murdered in Matthausen, Austria concentration camp & how sick w/grief & pain she was, she so loved him. And how one of the women who risked their lives to help save her later was caught attempting to save others & was murdered herself after being shipped to Ravensbruck concentration camp & how her mother was in the Warsaw Ghetto & sent to the gas chambers in Treblinka concentration camp. She cried when she spoke of how much pain can one take after her husband's death. Miriam just turned 74 about a month ago. I don't know how they handle such hell... She's been ill for the last 2 months & I feel helpless to help her..."

While writing this article to honor Miriam's memory and share history, I've practically gone mad looking for the fuchshia-colored paper I knew I had with her maiden name and the name of her Catholic Polish husband, a Gentile, one of four brothers who each owned the largest industrial banks in Poland, a paper I typed up in her home the day after she gave me detailed information about her life. I can't find it and wonder if I threw it out figuring Yad Vashem already has the information or what, but I can't imagine doing that as I would want to add my personal touch and memories to it. Perhaps it's all symbolic of the fears and frustrations of looking for lost family members, Holocaust survivors, and it's out of your control and so overwhelming.

Miriam said when Heydrich (Himmler?) thought things were going too slowly in Poland, he decided to round up a lot of people on "Black Saturday." That's when they took her husband away since he was involved in the Polish Underground. Miriam said she was in the Warsaw Ghetto with her mother (Miriam's parents were Zwi and Hana Hampel) but got out and was hid by a woman who was later sent to Ravensbruck herself for helping to rescue Jews. One night some drunk Poles came and banged on the door and told the woman they knew she was hiding "schwein, Jewish schwein," pretending to be Gestapo, and only left when they got a fur out of it. That's when the lady told Miriam she would have to go back into the Warsaw Ghetto until some other place could be found for her.

Miriam said that she had dyed her hair blond to look as Aryan as could be and wore a widow's veil and that the Nazi guards at the Warsaw Ghetto made a comment about how young she was to already be a widow. Later when another place was found for Miriam, she said her mother was so happy for her to get out but it was the last time she saw her and Miriam attributes her survival to her mother's prayers. Miriam said her mother was sent to Treblinka where she died, but a letter from Henia Seidman [Miriam's best Israeli-Polish friend] to me says she died in the Warsaw Ghetto. Miriam also said, if I remember correctly, that she was hid in a hole in the ground at Jan Bulski's place, and that the only thing to comfort her was a small vial of perfume she kept. I always gave her a gift of perfume for Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles). Henia wrote Miriam was hidden in their kitchen. One thing for sure is Miriam said after the war everybody talked about where they were during the war and how hardly anybody could believe where she was hidden, as Jews weren't welcome there before the war! Miriam felt the Poles were more anti-Semitic than the Germans.

Miriam told me that she later arranged, after the Russians came, to make it to Berlin but you could never know for sure if the one you paid to help you get there would show up or come through and her help did, but she ended up in the Russian section of Berlin on Christmas Eve and was in a small room with no windows and mattresses on the floor with about 50 other people crammed in there. She said everybody hoped to get into the American quarter. She also said after the war there was so much food, almost too much food.

Miriam married someone I think she met that Christmas night in Berlin or knew him in Poland, Hanoch Eisenberg, and wandered with him in Europe and as Henia wrote, "the Joint brought her and her husband...to Italy. From Italy they went by ships to Israel, but in the time of English Mandate their ship was kidnapped and brought to Cyprus camps. In Cyprus they were perhaps a year and in 1949 they came to Ramat Jochanan."

Actually, Miriam had some friend or relative visiting Ramat Yohanan from Kibbutz Yagur who was reading a letter from her, as Miriam told me, and she started crying and Henia Seidman, being the soft-hearted woman she's known to be, asked her why and she told her how Miriam was so depressed in Cyprus and Henia said for her to tell her to plan to come to Ramat Yohanan. When Miriam first came to the kibbutz from Cyprus after Israeli independence, they called for Henia who was working in what was then the kitchen (not the big beautiful cheder ochel -- dining room -- they have today, she pointed out), practically a wooden shack, and although she had soot or something on her face her beautiful blue eyes shone through (and Henia had such beautiful blue eyes) and Henia and her mother hugged and welcomed Miriam as family. Henia's family left Poland before the Holocaust.

Miriam divorced Eisenberg who didn't want to stay on the kibbutz and moved to Tel Aviv. She later married - for one day - David Weiss from the kibbutz. I used to say hello to him and often saw him working at the kibbutz factory, Palram. A very short man, older, with white hair. I once ate with David and mentioned the Queen of England continued King David's dynasty, and was surprised he was familiar with the belief but appeared to dismiss it as "a nice story."

Miriam and Henia were both short Polish Jews. We would always sit together in the dining room and eat and they would carry on in Polish and some Hebrew and English. If you didn't know them you would think they were always arguing, but that's just how they talked, as I chuckle remembering them. The mail boxes were in the dining room too, and since it was easier for me to walk with my "long legs" and get Miriam's mail, I would. That's how I brought the letter to her that day when we found out Jan Bulski had died. I had only written him about once and sent him maybe $20 or more through some grateful Polish organization in Toledo, Ohio that would make sure he received it. They said it would be exchanged on the black market for more zlotys. He was a diabetic and did receive something monthly from Yad Vashem after Miriam and Henia saw to it. A tree was also planted in his honor on the "Avenue of the Righteous Gentiles" at Yad Vashem in Jerusalem. Miriam cried and said he didn't have to risk his life and the life of his family to save her but that he did and that he was such a good man. Henia and I just kept quiet and wept with her.

Miriam told me her family had their money from the tea industry. They bought and sold the famous Lyon tea from England and then repackaged it or whatever they did to make a profit. She loved the European concerts and later travelled with her husband all over Europe and North Africa. She said her love of music came from her mother.

Miriam had another kibbutz "son" like me, also an American, whose name is Joe from New Hampshire. She was going to leave him her photo-album. Joe travelled with her to Switzerland to visit a mutual friend whom Miriam tried to play matchmaker between him and her, but they remained friends and nothing more. Miriam used to ask why Moses couldn't have led the Children of Israel to Switzerland! People would speak of Miriam's sons as "Joe and Hoover." (I was born with the family name of Hoover but legally changed my name to David Ben-Ariel for religious reasons). Miriam used to exclaim, "Do you know how many people would love to have your passport? To be an American?" I would tell her that although I dearly love the United States I want to live in Israel and she would mellow and say something like, "Well, if that makes you happy, if that's what you want." She also worried that I would get killed like Meir Kahane for being so outspoken.

One of my many fond and funny memories is Miriam and I arriving somewhat late to a Sukkot celebration around the swimming pool at Ramat Yohanan, and there were plenty of people standing around and we looked for a place to stand and then she found a bale of straw to sit on near the front and then there appeared to be some confusion as the lady who was to lead the children's singing was frantically looking about and then discovered that Miriam was sitting on the folded banner that had the words to their song!

Miriam used to rest in bed after we ate in the afternoon and listen to her classical music (I gave her Grandma Vivian Hoover's classical albums) and read The Jerusalem Post and then sigh how she hated politics, comment that she was weary of world news, but she would continue to read the newspapers and listen every hour on the hour to the news on the radio as I read a book or wrote in her living room (where she displayed the Austrian crystal glass castle I once gave her for a gift, which I called "the Kingdom of Messiah" -- because of its brilliance -- and Joe's paintings adorned her walls...Miriam had an artist and an author for her sons).

Every time I visited Israel, I would head straight for Miriam's. The last time I saw her was in 1995 when her friends told me she had Alzheimer's. She had been moved from her apartment to the nursing home. They told me if she would remember anybody, it would be me. I went in and she was strapped in a wheelchair, wanting out, and wanting me to get her out and speaking German to me. (Miriam knew German, English, Polish and Hebrew). She held on to my arm so tightly, looking frightened, and I said, "Miriam, it's David. I'm American. Speak Hebrew or English. I don't know German." She was crying and I was crying. Another Miriam, originally from Berlin, was very angry about Miriam's deteriorating situation and said the Germans who doubted the Holocaust should hear Miriam reliving it and crying out for her mother, as if once wasn't enough! Henia wrote me that Miriam was born in Poland June 29, 1915 and died January 4, 1997 at Ramat Yohanan and was buried there and "got a very fine monument at our cemetery."

For greater insight into my beloved Miriam, I'll close with portions of a March 18, 1988 letter of commendation she wrote on my behalf to Joseph Tkach, Jr. of the Worldwide Church of God:

...my kibbutz son David Hoover...first came to our kibbutz seven years ago...he posted [actually somebody else did in the communal dining room] an article he had written about his struggle to free himself from drugs for all the members to read. A very brave thing to do since drug addiction is here considered a terrible social and personal crime. I invited him to visit me and we subsequently got to know each other well. David stayed on our kibbutz six months the first time. He worked hard and thus earned the respect of many members here. There was never any trouble. Quite the contrary. And David shared with us his Christian beliefs that had given him such strength to overcome his addiction...When I say he shared his beliefs I mean that he offered but did not force them upon us. As might be well known to you we are sensitive to any aggressive presentations of Christianity that denigrate our Jewish heritage. But David has a deep and affectionate respect for it. I myself am not religious and must admit that I am sometimes bewildered by his impressive knowledge of the Bible and Jewish customs but if it give his life fulfillment I am very happy for him...Over the past seven years David has come to Ramat Yohanan to celebrate Sukkot. He has stayed with me and is a very well behaved guest. He also corresponds with me regularly and started my subscription to Plain Truth which I do read with interest. Recently I continued the subscription. I might add that several other members of our kibbutz now read it too...I think confidence can be placed in him to represent your church here in the Middle East...

Sincerely,
Shalom,
Miriam Weiss

I yearn to return to Zion and visit Miriam's gravesite, but Ramat Yohanan just wouldn't be the same without her. And the dining room without Miriam or Henia...

The Mystery of MELCHIZEDEK Solved!
"And Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was priest of God Most High. And he [Melchizedek] blessed him [Abraham] and said, 'Blessed be Abram by God Most High, maker of heaven and earth; and blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand!' And Abram gave him [Melchizedek] a tenth of everything" that is, a tithe of all, for a tithe means a tenth (Genesis 14:18-20, RSV).

One of the Worldwide Church of God beliefs is that there will be a politico-military mess that will take place by next year. In their opinion, Germany, and maybe even Italy, will attempt to conquer the world. That attempt will ignite a world war that will take two thirds of the world's population, but that afterwards there will begin a true peace for planet Earth. The members of the Worldwide Church of God will be among those that survive and they believe that eventually their beliefs will be accepted by all the Earth.

Those with a biblical view consider the revival of the nation of Israel, presently the Jewish homeland of Israel (held in trust for all Twelve Tribes of Israel), as the continuation of the Kingdom of Judah, capital Jerusalem. So for us to call upon the Jews to restore their monarchy in Israel is only logical and not troubled by time or space.

Am I a prophet? I'll leave that to their sages to determine, so help them God.

Of course, as prophesied, a scion of King David continues to rule over Israel in the Isles today: Her Royal Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Would to God QEII would remember her Hebrew roots and return to the Faith once delivered to Jerusalem and forsake Babylon, setting a sterling example for every British- Israelite to follow.

Yitzhak Rabin Memorial marred by liberal hate

Rabin Memorial Turns into Verbal Attack on Nationalists
by Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu

(IsraelNN.com) Labor party chairman Ehud Barak told tens of thousands at the annual memorial rally for Prime Minister Yitzchak Rabin in Tel Aviv Saturday night that "extremists" are a "cancer" and that "we will remove this evil from our midst." Kadima leader Tzipi Livni was also was invited to speak.

President Shimon Peres complained of the absence of "part of the nation that does not see itself as a part of this memorial event," referring to nationalists. National Union Knesset Member Uri Ariel later commented to the media, "When the speakers invited to the memorial event are the head of Labor and the head of Kadima, and when they exploit the opportunity by making political speeches, half of the nation feels excluded and unwanted at the event."

During the rally, which organizers proclaim as a memorial for democracy and peace, signs of Peace Now activists read, "No settler is my brother." Zionist student movement leaders complained that police attacked them and confiscated a sign stating, "End Peace Now's incitement."

The memorial was held on the eve of the 13th year since Herzliya resident Yigal Amir murdered Rabin after a mammoth rally backing the Oslo Accords.

The Foreign Ministry announced the anniversary with a listing of Rabin's biography and "key speeches" by Rabin.

However, it omitted one of his last and most important speeches, the "Ratification of the Israel-Palestinian Interim Agreement,” before the Knesset on October 5, 1995, one month before he was murdered.

Rabin stated in the speech his opposition to a new independent Arab state acting as a sovereign authority inside Israel's current borders. He stated at the time, "We view the permanent solution in the framework of State of Israel which will include most of the area of the Land of Israel as it was under the rule of the British Mandate, and alongside it a Palestinian entity which will be a home to most of the Palestinian residents living in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

"We would like this to be an entity which is less than a state, and which will independently run the lives of the Palestinians under its authority."

Rabin also declared, "We will not return to the 4 June 1967 lines. The security border of the State of Israel will be located in the Jordan Valley, in the broadest meaning of that term."

In response to inquiries, nationalist leaders from all factions have distanced themselves from conspiracy theorist David Rutstein who is now claiming that President Shimon Peres was responsible for the Rabin assassination.

Have the Nationalist leaders distanced themselves from David Rutstein and/or from the compelling evidence that Barry Chamish brought to light in Who Murdered Yitzhak Rabin? that Shimon Peres is as guilty as sin as an accessory?
