Paul Instructs Vegetarians

Excerpt from Is All Animal Flesh Good Food? by Herbert W. Armstrong:

Paul Instructs Vegetarians
Paul's letter to the saints at Rome is often quoted as supposed proof that any kind of flesh food is good to eat. But is this what Paul really taught?

Turn to the beginning of the 14th chapter of Romans. Notice what the apostle is writing: "Him that is weak in the faith receive ye"--don't dispute with him and sit in judgment on him because of his weak understanding of the faith, Paul continues. "For one believeth that he may eat all things, another who is weak, eateth herbs [vegetables only]" (Romans 14:1-2).

Of whom is Paul writing? Of those who were vegetarians, as well as those who believed in eating both flesh foods and vegetables.

Paul was confronted with the same problem that we encounter today in carrying the Gospel to the world. You would be surprised at the number of people who do not eat meat or even any animal products--milk, butter, cheese, eggs. Some have meatless days or days on which they will eat fish only. These are all people who, because they are weak in the faith, abstain from those clean meats which God originally sanctified or set apart in His Word for man's physical nourishment.

The question confronting Paul was not that Christians at Rome contended that all unclean animals had now been cleansed by God--the common false assumption of today--but the real issue, according to verse two, was over the vegetarian belief held by some that no meats whatsoever should be eaten.

Paul was straightening out the brethren on this matter, telling them that none of those clean meats which had been created by God to be received with thanksgiving should be refused. He pointed out to them, however, that it would be wrong for the vegetarians to eat meat if they had doubts about it, thereby defiling their weak consciences. For he wrote, "...Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth. And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin" (Rom. 14:22-23).

We must follow what God has revealed to us to be right according to the Word of God. This does not mean that our consciences always tell us what is right--not at all. We have to continually study to learn what is right and wrong. But God thinks more highly of a vegetarian who might sincerely and conscientiously deny himself the clean meats, because he does not know the full truth, than He does a person who would do the right thing according to the letter, but who really believes in his heart that he is doing wrong.

So "to him"--the vegetarian--"that esteemeth anything to be common, to "him"--the vegetarian--"it is common." That is, it seems so to him. But it is not common in fact, nor to us, for we know that all clean meats are good for food. That is why Paul wrote: "I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing common of itself" (Rom. 14:14).

Notice that in this verse Paul used, according to the margin of the King James Version, the Greek word for "common," not the Greek word for "unclean." Why?

"Common" Does Not Mean "Unclean"

Many have carelessly assumed that Paul is writing about unclean meats in this 14th chapter of Romans. He is not! He is writing about the difference between vegetarians who regard that clean meats are common, and those who know that clean meats are of themselves not common.

In the Greek there are two different words used which are often carelessly translated "unclean" or "common." Notice that in Acts 10:14 both of these words are used. The Bible does not repeat itself foolishly. Therefore these two words mean entirely different things.

The Greek word for "unclean" is akarthatos. It means "unclean and impure by nature." The Greek word for "common" is koinos, which means "polluted through external misuse." (See any of the Lexicons.)

Paul used the Greek word for "common" throughout Romans 14:14. He did not use the Greek word for "unclean." In other words, Paul knew that no clean foods which God has sanctified are by nature polluted, but vegetarians who were weak in the faith--weak in understanding God's Word--thought meats should not be eaten. To such a vegetarian--"to him," not to others--that meat seemed to be polluted. His conscience defiled the meat for him; he would become upset if he were to eat meat. But that does not make the meat polluted in fact or for everybody else.

Notice Paul's conclusion: "For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are pure"--that is, all things that God sanctified and gave us to eat are clean --but it is evil for that man who eateth with offense. It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor anything whereby thy brother stumbleth..." (verses 20 and 21).

Paul is not recommending eating unclean meats! Quite the opposite. He is recommending not eating any meat at all in the presence of a vegetarian brother if he is offended!

When Is "Clean" Meat "Common"?

The only circumstance in which clean meats are ever common or polluted is when the clean animals have died of themselves or when the blood has not been properly drained. That is why the apostles and elders who gathered at Jerusalem forbade the use of meat from strangled animals and meat with the blood in it (Acts 15:20). This is New Testament teaching for today!

Such animal flesh was called "common" because it could be given to strangers or aliens in Old Testament times if those people wanted to eat it. They were the common and polluted people--the Gentiles--not the chosen and clean people, Israel (Deut. 14:21).

In New Testament times, clean meat offered to idols was prohibited if it had been polluted by strangulation or if the blood were remaining in it. Otherwise the meat was permitted to be eaten if it did not offend anyone.

Paul devoted the entire 8th and 10th chapters of I Corinthians to instructions on not raising the question of meats offered to idols. "But if any man say unto you, This is offered in sacrifice unto idols, eat not for his sake that shewed it, and for conscience sake" (I Cor. 10:28). In other words, if clean meats offered to idols were not polluted, you could eat of them unless it offended someone. Under those circumstances the meat became common, not to you, but to the other person who raised the question about idols. Notice:

"Conscience, I say, not thine own, but of the other" (verse 29).

That is why Paul said in Romans, "But to him that esteemeth any thing to be common [margin], to him it is common" (Rom. 14:14). ..

It's amazing how some who set themselves up as "experts on David Ben-Ariel" love to indulge in disinformation. Granted, a few are just careless and confused about their "facts" but others are clearly obsessed (and possibly dangerous) like this disturbed person who has started an internet campaign against me: Steps to Ban "David Ben Ariel"

I was born in Bowling Green, Ohio, and donated a copy of Beyond Babylon to the Bowling Green library, but I have never lived there. BG, to their credit, does look like a rather nice place to live.

My name was David Hoover, but I legally changed it to David Ben-Ariel in 1989, as I testify in God-given Names and From Toledo to Jerusalem.

Facts are racist? I'm a realist. That's why I wrote, in Black Mark on Toledo that you referenced, "Toledo blacks gave Bill White's best sermon." That's the plain truth. Why deny it? Afraid of being called "racist"? (And where in the world did you get any mention of "racial superiority" in that article? You didn't, as any objective reader could easily conclude).

At least you're correct that I was affiliated with the Philadelphia Church of God, which is why I was on both nights of the FOX 25 Special Report in Oklahoma City about the PCG, leading to Gerald Flurry's outrageous attacks against me in full page newspaper ads, misleading folks to believe that I'm a terrorist, misrepresenting the Temple Mount Faithful as a terrorist organization, to deflect criticism of him as a false prophet - even though this star witness (his words) provided him with overwhelming evidence to the contrary, including a State Department letter.

I agree that wicked Hamas plots for Israel to '"rest in peace" - and every one of the other Muslim terrorist groups (and they're all terrorists since they violently oppose any manner, shape or form of Israel) shares their bloody sentiments.

We know this, so why do the Israeli and American and European leaders continue their danse macabre, the lying peace process? BLOOD MONEY and ultimate German-Jesuit occupation of the Holy Land of Israel.

Mean words about Catholics and Protestants?

Mean words about Catholics and Protestants?

Re: The Christian War Against Christmas

Quote from: sntjohnny on December 19, 2008, 01:00:25 AM
Some pretty mean words about Catholics and protestants there.

Are they mean? Was the apostle John being "mean" when he recorded the revelation that made reference to a religious mother and daughters in ugly but true terms?

Paul said, "Have I therefore become your enemy because I tell you the truth?"

It would be mean to whitewash the Babylonian Mystery religion, and cruel to call it "Christianity."

Really, trying to malign the holiday (old 'holy day') because it started out as a celebration of the Christ Mass is a reach.

The "mass of Christ," a Roman Catholic invention, is just fuel on the fire. Regardless of how folks want to play games, they lose if they remain in denial that it's a pagan hollow day that has been "baptized" as Christian, and such vain attempts at modification of pagan holidays to worship the true God are condemned in Scripture.

"One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. He who regards one day as special, does so to the Lord..." Romans 14:5

As far as I'm concerned, any kind of pronouncements like these ones about Christians celebrating particular days are completely out of line.

I encourage you to learn to rightly divide the Word of truth, and then you'll see Paul was referring to FAST DAYS, not pagan holidays pretending to be Christian!

You judge yourself and call the wrath of God upon your own head because in spite of clear passages insisting that how a Christian handles 'special days' is up to the discretion of the Christian, you nonetheless condemn them.

Actually, you've condemned yourself by your rash judgment, your failure to properly apply the Scripture. What you have attempted to twist the Scriptures to say is totally inconsistent with the Word of God and confusion, and Satan is the author of confusion. The God of law and order has graciously given us HIS holy days, pure festivals, to observe. Why not celebrate them like Yeshua, the apostles, the early Church of God, and the faithful flock who continue to do so?

Think and pray about it, if you please.

From Sdot Yam:

Hello David,

I have been getting nostalgic in the past year and usually google Sdot-Yam. I see your name everywhere and I just smile. I loved seeing the pictures, and just remembering that part of my life does me good. I have been in search of Anja Zerwas for many years now, just seeing her picture on your website has renewed some hope that I may still find her. I miss Donna as well, she was always good to talk with when things were rather dismal, do you hear from her at all?

There is a website called KibbutzReloaded.com, it's for volunteers and ulpan students. I was surprised not to see your name and story on the list. I saw the picture you had of me on top of Masada with the machine gun, I have that picture on my fridge.

... the pictures are fantastic. Thank you David, there is something very comforting about looking at old photos...

I have to say what shocked me most about you was your brilliant writing ability, and here I thought you were just another pretty face. I had no idea you are such a deep thinker. I look forward to getting out to the bookstore and buying it.

Would love to hear from you again,

Will Germany Launch a Nuclear Attack on America?

Will Germany Launch a Nuclear Attack on America?

I've always done what I could over the years, with what I've got, to help warn our beloved peoples about the German threat to world peace. Whether by ads or articles or letters to the Editor of newspapers and magazines, since every little bit helps with God's blessing upon it, I do my best to warn the world.

While doing what I can to help warn the world, I've always encouraged the Sabbath-keeping Church of God to do more, to go public and step away from behind the podium (preaching to the choir), to get the Word out and let our God-given message become a household word, known and debated and discussed everywhere. Our God-given message must reach those high and low, rich and poor, regardless of race or religion or we will have failed our God-given mission.

The Greater Toledo, Ohio area has received the lion's share of my efforts, since that's where I'm from, although I've also reached out to Judea, Jerusalem, New York and elsewhere.

This ad (shown below) - Will Germany Launch a Nuclear Attack on America? - appeared several times in The Press newspaper, and a similar ad appeared twice in the AutoTrader (talk about taking it to the streets, reaching the general public!). I've also had a full-page ad in The Toledo City Paper warning about EUROPE'S NEW CRUSADE: "PEACE" FOR THE MIDDLE EAST.

I trust free publicity will offer greater opportunities, and God knows, by His grace, I'll walk through every open door to expand His Work. Your prayers are appreciated.

Kibbutz Shoval

John and I lived at Kibbutz Adamit, then Kibbutz Shoval in late 1990, and were living at Kibbutz Dan when Operation Desert Storm blew in.

A few honorable mentions of Kibbutz Shoval in my writings:

"I was living at Kibbutz Shoval in Israel’s Negev desert, beautifying the grounds, when I heard that [Meir Kahane] had been murdered in New York by another Arab terrorist. When his funeral took place in Jerusalem, I was honored to attend with tens of thousands of others to show solidarity with what he boldly taught— and as a blond, stood out in the Black Sea of Haredim on TV."
–excerpt from Beyond Babylon: Europe’s Rise and Fall - Chapter 3 - TRUTH OR CONSEQUENCES

"Shoval, a rose in the Negev desert, just north of Be'er Sheva..."
- God-given love for Jews

I remember when we stayed at Shoval, how rumors of war with Iraq had us concerned, and how this older kibbutznik man said, "There won't be war. The Iraqis know we're not like the Americans," implying the Israelis would hit back hard and fast. I thought of him later when we lived at Kibbutz Dan and war did break out and we were all huddled in our "sealed rooms" whenever the sirens went off, warning about incoming Scud missiles, taking shelter until the "all clear" was sounded (which we usually heard on the radio from the BBC first!).

We mentioned our concerns to the volunteer leader at Shoval, and she said something like, "If you're really worried about it, we can get you a gas mask" - with the tone that we were bothering her. After all, there had been notices in The Jerusalem Post about the Israelis obtaining their gas masks in case of war.

Here are a few pictures of Kibbutz Shoval volunteers, John's birthday, kibbutzniks, new Russian immigrants (from Tashkent, who gave me a traditional hat worn there), Ashdod, museum/former mosque in Beersheva, couple of Jerusalem, our volunteer trip to Ein Gedi (with Arugot Nahal waterfalls and Ibex) and the Dead Sea. Enjoy!

Shame on Jonathan Freedland!

Jonathan Freedland has his head in the sand

Re: On air: A four state solution in the Middle East

Jonathan Freedland has his head in the sand. His vain proposals exhibit more hateful idiocy from those who fail to face harsh reality.

Reality check for Mr. Freedland: What part of the Promised Land of Israel don't you get? What part of Jewish homeland don't you understand? His prejudicial language and hostile attitude against the Jewish pioneers is appalling. You would think they're the one engaged in mass murder of innocent men, women, children and babies in strollers like the Nazi Muslims routinely are!

Shame on you, Jonathan Freedland! Why do you aid and abet terrorists? The Arabs will never accept Israel in any deformed shape or political fashion, regardless of how much land they dismember and permit to be Arab-occupied. The biblical solution, as revealed by Moses and called for by former Israeli parliament member, Meir Kahane (murdered by another Arab terrorist) is to expel Israel's sworn enemies and immediately annex the liberated biblical lands, enforcing peace through strength.

Racism is not the unpardonable sin!

Racism is not the unpardonable sin!

I'm a native born American, a Christian Zionist, an Israelite and Jew (from the tribes of Joseph and Judah respectively), and a White supremacist. How could White Israelites be otherwise?

Years of observation and study have taught me to be an honest racist, a realist, without apology. Racism is not the unpardonable sin that politically correct fascists would mislead folks to believe. Dishonest racists would have us deny our God-given differences and foolishly pretend we're all equal when everything proves we're not equal except in our potential to be born again into the Kingdom of God-Beings, and even then salvation is offered first to the Jews (Israelites) and then to the Greeks (Gentiles).

"I will say, then, that I AM NOT NOR HAVE EVER BEEN in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the black and white races---that I am not, nor ever have been, in favor of making voters or jurors of Negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor to intermarry with White people; and I will say in addition to this that there is a physical difference between the White and black races which will ever FORBID the two races living together on terms of social and political equality. And inasmuch as they cannot so live, while they do remain together, there must be the position of superior and inferior, and I, as much as any other man, am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the White race."

Re: The Radical Left and the American Constitution

What Gerald Flurry writes is good and strong, but stops short, holds back, fails to go all the way with the warning message God would have His Watchmen deliver! What Mr. Flurry writes is equivalent to something a conservative commentator would write or some evangelical minister could preach.

Gerald Flurry warns we're entering a period called "the times of the Gentiles" (Luke 21:24). Many Protestants can tell you that much. I do give credit where credit is due.

Why did Mr. Flurry fail to note Barack Obama is a Gentile? That we are a country, first and foremost, as originally founded, a White Israelite country? He prefers euphemisms of "English speaking nations," and The Philadelphia Trumpet magazine uses the same soft language, lest they be politically incorrect and suffer persecution, forced to stand their holy ground, to stand up for biblical standards against self-righteous humanist ideas!

Why did Gerald Flurry fail to mention that's it's a sin for White Israelites to elect a Gentile to rule over them? Why did Mr. Flurry fail to cry aloud and spare not and warn us that Gentile rulers are part of the punishment, the curse, foretold to chastise our White Israelite lands and peoples?

If Gerald Flurry, The Philadelphia Trumpet staff, and the Philadelphia Church of God truly believe the liberals will soon go after freedoms of speech and religion and undermine our Constitution, that the hour is late, what are they waiting for to speak truth to power? To dare to share the plain truth of the Bible and history? Why are they wasting $15 million in Edmond, Oklahoma alone (on an Arts Center!) instead of getting the Word out while they still can? Why are they carrying on business as usual?

The PCG just ran a series of ads (Flurry's fluff pieces) in Oklahoma that failed to drive home what they supposedly believe, and instead downed others to lift themselves up, stressing their good works to vainly impress the world (Catholics, Protestants, Jews and Muslims do good works, so what?), and, at least, offered Herbert W. Armstrong's book, Mystery of the Ages. That's a great book, but it's the gospel, and the Work of God must go forward - the Church of God must warn the world!

Gerald Flurry's church put me out for writing Beyond Babylon - it doesn't hold back, or exercise undue restraint, but Beyond Babylon drops the bombshell that is necessary to get everybody's attention fast!

A German-led Europe will strike nuclear terror against US! National destruction, defeat and deportation are on the way! The American, British and Jewish peoples are marked for death!

It's getting dark fast, and Obama is proof the night is almost here.

The Radical Left and the American Constitution

The Radical Left and the American Constitution
November 21, 2008 From theTrumpet.com
Politicians who think they know better than America’s founders are attacking the fundamental principles of the nation.

By Gerald Flurry

When I saw the results of America’s presidential election, it left me in profound sadness. Not because of any one man, but because it showed what a radical turn this nation has taken. It showed just how much the extreme radicals have gotten control.
You’re going to soon see that this is a very different America than it was before the election.

All the signs show that it really didn’t matter who won—America is losing its power quickly, and no one man could turn that around. The economy is in a disastrous condition. This will combine with the nation’s moral decline and loss of national will to devastate us.

But now, those problems will be made worse by the stranglehold of far-left liberals on the highest echelon of the government. Let me give you an example of what I mean.

Negative Liberties

In a 2001 radio interview, Barack Obama revealed some of his shocking ideas about how the government should run.

Here is what he said about the 1953-1969 Supreme Court led by Chief Justice Earl Warren, which was a very activist court: “To that extent, as radical as I think people tried to characterize the Warren court, it wasn’t that radical.” Notice this! “It didn’t break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the Founding Fathers in the Constitution” (emphasis mine throughout).

The extremely liberal Warren Supreme Court wasn’t radical enough, in Mr. Obama’s opinion.

Mr. Obama was talking about how the constraints on the Constitution need to be removed. He was revealing where he believes the Founding Fathers erred in writing the defining legal charter of the United States!

This is a man who has been in the Senate for only three years—and spent half of that time running for president—who believes he knows where the Founding Fathers were wrong.

“Generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties,” Mr. Obama continued. “It says what the states can’t do to you, says what the federal government can’t do to you, but it doesn’t say what the federal government or the state government must do on your behalf.”

That is true, and it is a major reason the Constitution was so successful in establishing this nation. The Ten Commandments are the same way. They are mostly “thou shalt nots,” explaining those things God commands you not to do. That gives a law-abiding people a tremendous amount of freedom! Not only are you free from those sins that lead to spiritual and physical slavery, but also, everything else that does not violate that law is good in God’s sight.

Mr. Obama’s statement was not alarming to most Americans because the Ten Commandments mean so little to them today!

Essayist Bill Whittle wrote this in response to Mr. Obama’s interview: “The entire purpose of the Constitution was to limit government. That limitation of powers is what has unlocked in America the vast human potential available in any population. Barack Obama sees the limiting of government not as a linchpin, but rather as a fatal flaw …” (National Review Online, October 27).

This is Mr. Obama’s view of the Constitution. When he says it should have stated what the government must do on the people’s behalf, he is talking about federal social programs. As he said in the same radio interview, this means taking wealth from some citizens and redistributing it to others in the form of health care, welfare and other social benefits.

A lot of that thinking was what destroyed the home mortgage firms Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. That crisis is at the heart of America’s financial meltdown.

Still, the radical left think they know exactly what should be done on behalf of the people.

Understanding Human Nature

The Founding Fathers created the Constitution to limit the government’s power because they had lived under a tyrant who decided, according to his own whims, what was fair for the people and what wasn’t. The Constitution gave them a certain protection from evil human nature. The founders based this charter on certain biblical principles, not just human reasoning.

What happens if you don’t have a Constitution to hold back the liberal left? You end up with a welfare state and a loss of many freedoms!

I believe Mr. Obama sincerely thinks his ideas will solve America’s problems, and I’m not saying he is malicious.

But what kind of decisions do you think he will make in office? What kind of judges do you think he will appoint? Judges who will uphold the Constitution? No—he is going to appoint judges who will reject parts of the Constitution and remove its restraints so liberals can do whatever they want with the government!

The mainstream press, which is supposed to be unbiased and is supposed to be our watchman, has also become radicalized. Many of its journalists and commentators will not even consider an opposing view. They go to great lengths to bury the serious flaws of their own candidates, and at the same time they work actively to propagate every negative piece of information they can find to attack any opposing viewpoint.

Liberals want to revive the Fairness Doctrine, which states that the media must present both sides on each issue. But are they doing this because they want to correct the radical, one-sided bias of most of the mainstream press? No—what they really want to do is shut down dissent. Conservative commentators, particularly radio talk-show hosts, are concerned that the radical left will use its new power to silence their views.

You see the same radicalization in our educational institutions. There is generally only one side taught in most of our colleges and universities.

Who would have thought, even a few years ago, that we would choose such radical people to rule us? This is only the vanguard of our people’s moral and spiritual decline. The radical left is leading the way.

What a huge shift! What happens to make people so drastically different from how they were just 10 years ago? Why is America acting like it is in a trance while this radicalization takes place? Because the nation is rapidly degenerating before our eyes.

The Point of No Return

At a campaign appearance in Denver, Mr. Obama had a hundred thousand people show up. Why are these gigantic crowds so enthusiastic about him? What is really going on here?

It has a lot to do with human emotion, wild imagination—and desperation. The answer is that people are in distress. They are troubled. They see grave problems facing our nation. And they are looking desperately for solutions—for a savior. But people never look in the right place.

There is something unseen moving these events, influencing these people. It explains why people are acting as they are. The Bible shows us what that unseen factor is.

Revelation 12:9-10 say Satan the devil has been cast down to this Earth. He is in a white-hot rage and is preparing real trouble for America. He is going to destroy this land! And he is going to destroy Britain and the Jewish nation as well, in the immediate future!

Thomas Sowell, a black conservative, said during a television interview just before the election, “Sometimes people will say, ‘It is just as well to let those guys get in there and discredit themselves, then we’ll win in the backlash.’ People said that when Hitler was rising in Germany. And many of those people that said that died in concentration camps. … There is such a thing as the point of no return.”

In my article in our September issue, I used the same phrase. America has passed the point of no return.

We are experiencing the end-time prophetic fulfillment of a statement God made about Judah anciently: “But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the Lord arose against his people, till there was no remedy” (2 Chronicles 36:16). In other words, they had passed the point of no return.

Can we see what this watershed election means for the future of this nation?

Yes, America is deeply flawed. But no matter what you think of this nation, it has kept a lot of tyrants off people’s backs, and it did begin with a wonderful, noble idea linked to God and the Bible.

But the Bible says its time is over. We are entering a period called “the times of the Gentiles” (Luke 21:24).

We have been anticipating this development for a long time. Herbert W. Armstrong foretold of the time we are in now for some 50 years. This is about to affect you, whether you realize it or not.

Verse 12 of 2 Chronicles 36 says Jeremiah delivered words out of God’s own mouth, and that God expected King Zedekiah and the people to humble themselves before His prophet.

Jeremiah is an end-time book. Is there a work that is literally speaking from the mouth of God today? There is, and that ought to be sobering to all of us!

God expects us to discern when the words are coming from the Spirit of God. But America, Britain and the Jews as nations have refused to do that. Just as people don’t believe in Satan’s flaming wrath, you don’t see much interest in God today. They have refused to repent—liberals and conservatives—and have forgotten their past history with God. They have passed the point of no return. They have gotten so far from God that they can no longer be reached by words. As a result, they are going to be victims of Satan’s raging wrath!

Those are the words from God’s mouth, and somebody has to stand up and proclaim them! Like Jeremiah, someone must speak from the mouth of God! That is sobering, but also should fill us with joy!

Hope and Change

Amid all this bad news, we must not fail to see the good news. The good news is that these dramatic events are a sign! Christ said it would be exactly this way just before He returned. He is coming!

Lamentations 2:8 shows God is stretching out a line and measuring the destruction of biblical Israel for its rejecting Him. For a short span of time, this is bad news. But it is leading to the return of Jesus Christ to save mankind from extinction and a time when man will finally learn his own futility and then turn to God!

We have gotten to the point now that if Christ didn’t intervene, no flesh would be left alive on this Earth (Matthew 24:22). This is what man has achieved. People want to look to men to save them, to be their messiah. And look at man’s crowning achievement: the potential to obliterate all mankind off the planet! Christ prophesied about that explicitly, but even professing Christians of this world don’t talk about what He said! They only talk about the person of Christ.

It is true that you don’t see much joy on the Earth today. Mankind is turning to the most radical and risky of governments for change and hope. That will result in the worst kind of change imaginable—but it will also lead to the return of our true Savior, Jesus Christ. Then, God says, He is going to fill this Earth with His government, and with real joy and real hope! •

Re: Christian Zionists: The Real Terrorists

It's nice to know us Christian Zionists "terrorize" the Nazi Muslim sinners in light of our biblical support for the Jewish homeland of Israel, exposing and condemning the darkness of "Palestine" and those who aid and abet its evil.

Kibbutz Ramat Yohanan

After celebrating the Feast of Tabernacles with the Worldwide Church of God in Jerusalem, in 1982, I continued on to serve as a volunteer at Kibbutz Ramat Yohanan near Haifa in Northern Israel. Ramat Yohanan was the beginning of my kibbutz volunteer service, that ultimately included 8 kibbutzim, a moshav and precious months in Jerusalem! It was at Ramat Yohanan that I met Miriam Weiss, who "adopted" me and became my "kibbutz mother."

The following are pictures of my fellow kibbutz volunteers from Scotland, England, Sweden, France, Germany, the United States, Australia, the Netherlands, etc. at Ramat Yohanan, and on a trip to the Golan Heights, Akko, Rosh Hanikra; a few pictures of Worldwide Church of God member Simcha Gombo and her daughter, Michal, who lived nearby in Kiryat Ata, as well as pictures of Ilan Itzhayek and family (his mother baked a birthday cake for my 33rd birthday) from Kiryat Ata; pictures of Ilan and I in Jerusalem for Hanukkah (where I met Yitzhak Rabin), where, as *David Hoover, I was able to write the preliminary introduction to America Warned! - on the Temple Mount - that has since been published as Beyond Babylon: Europe's Rise and Fall, as well as a picture of Ambassador College graduate Sylvia Owens, during a visit to the Jerusalem Biblical Zoo, and Jerusalem's Liberty Bell Park that includes The Children's Playground sponsored by the Ambassador International Cultural Foundation.

Not eligible for a visa until 2005

After my unjust deportation from Israel, the Israeli Embassy informed Senator Mike DeWine that I would not be "eligible for a visa until 2005" - even though false rumors would mislead folks to believe I can never return, which simply isn't true, as these official government letters prove:

Not eligible for a visa until 2005

Why Edward Abington, Jr. Must be Investigated!

Why Edward Abington, Jr. Must be Investigated!

"The American Diplomat in Arafat's Corner," published in The Jerusalem Report, came as no surprise to me. It was referring to Edward Abington, Jr., the United States' former consul general in Jerusalem who is now "guiding the Palestinians through the labyrinths of Washington. And his firm is being paid $2.25 million for his expertise."

Allow the following information to shed light on his less than faithful service to American taxpayers:

"Dear Congresswoman Kaptur: Thank you for your valuable assistance in my pursuit of justice! It's wonderfully refreshing to see some public servants truly helping out their fellow Americans.

It's obvious from Mr. Abington, Jr.'s letter to you that he has strongly held political views that prefers the continued occupation of JUDAISM'S MOST HOLY SITE -- the Temple Mount -- by militant Muslims. Such radical views enable the Muslim extremists to continue to pose a threat to religious Jews and Christians who merely hope to pray on the site...

However historically or biblically inaccurate Mr. Abington, Jr's views are, I believe he is entitled to them. I do not believe his personal views ought to interfere with his public duty. It appears he has DELIBERATELY IGNORED every relevant FACT that PROVED my arrest amounted to political and religious PERSECUTION.

As honestly reported in The Jerusalem Post article he referred to, I wasn't interrogated...by 6 different SECRET SERVICEMEN about the TEMPLE MOUNT because of an "expired visa!" I charged Ms. Leech (his assistant) with complicity in their unjust actions against me for going along with their lie that my visa was expired and for turning a blind eye to their undemocratic ways. I'd given her a letter for Mr. Abington, Jr. to PROTEST MY POLITICAL ABUSE AND RELIGIOUS MISTREATMENT. Since he never bothered to respond, I'm not sure he even received it.

It was difficult to deal with Ms. Leech...since she was quite antagonistic, contending that Israel wanted to deport me because "you wanted to blow up the mosque." When I protested that simply was NOT TRUE, she angrily ordered her assistant, "Go see what he's charged with." He came back and said, "Visa violation." So she KNEW the real reason I was in jail was for being a member of the Temple Mount Faithful, but later went along with their LIE about my visa...

Mr. Abington, Jr. falsely accused me of being proud about my imprisonment. I'm not proud of it nor ashamed, but I do believe in making the most out of a bad situation...Why shouldn't I use my horrible experience to underscore and further the JUST CAUSE of the Temple Mount Faithful? How could anyone fail to understand this?...After all, it's the TEMPLE Mount, not the mosque mount!

Is it too much for an INNOCENT AMERICAN to expect his government to stand up for him? All I've requested from the beginning is for the Consul General to STRONGLY PROTEST my unjust imprisonment and deportation. They know what I say is the truth, but because of their hostile views, they're playing deaf, dumb and blind to the fact that I was a POLITICO-RELIGIOUS PRISONER.

Frankly, they're upset that I refused to go like a lamb to slaughter, but roared like a lion instead - exposing Peres' corruption and their complicity. I will continue to seek justice until it is found."

Edward Abington, Jr.'s State Department letter

Due to persistent false rumors that I, David Ben-Ariel, was involved in a plot to blow up the mosques in Jerusalem, even by lying religious leaders like Gerald Flurry of the Philadelphia Church of God (not just enemies of the plain truth of the Bible), I present here the State Department letter from former American Consul General in Jerusalem, Edward G. Abington, Jr. to Ohio Representative Marcy Kaptur. (Jr.'s hostility to the Temple Mount Faithful is explained in Why Edward Abington, Jr. Must Be Investigated! and his dubious character and conflict of interests in Something smells bad).
