The Passover Memorial
When did God decree that Jesus could declare "it is finished" and die on the stake? Why at the very same time that THE JEWS were sacrificing their Passover lambs at the Temple! The Jews had always killed the Passover lambs during the final hours of the 14th. It was towards the end of the 14th, not at the beginning of the 14th, that the Passover lambs were killed.

Yeshua is the Suffering Servant

"The suffering servant of Isaiah 53 is the Jewish nation," according to traditional Jewish misunderstanding.
Some Jewish people are self-righteous enough to consider themselves worthy of atoning for mankind, but only One from the Jewish nation - Yeshua - qualifies, having died and been resurrected, atoning for many, seeing his spiritual descendants, since He is alive. How else could someone who died - as the The Suffering Servant did (Israel is still alive - remember Am Israel Chai? The Nation/People of Israel lives), see the travail of His soul was well worth the sacrifice?
Isaiah 53:
1 "Who has believed our report? (most of Israel and Judah - professing Christianity - haven't believed the report and either reject Yeshua or accept a Gentilized version)
And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?
2 For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, And as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him,There is no beauty that we should desire Him.
3 He is despised and rejected by men, A Man (not a nation, a man) of sorrows and acquainted with grief.And we (collective Israel, especially Judah) hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He (one man) was despised, and we (Israel/Judah) did not esteem Him.
4 Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we (collective Israel/Judah) esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted (and curse His holy Name).

9 And they made His grave with the wicked (Am Yisrael Chai - Israel has never died or God's Word would have been broken to the Fathers)—
But with the rich at His death, Because He had done no violence, Nor was any deceit in His mouth.
10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin (something Judaism denies possible but God's Word and Yeshua prove true), He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days (having been resurrected to see and enjoy his spiritual seed), And the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in His hand.
11 He shall see the labor of His soul,and be satisfied. By His knowledge My righteous Servant (One Savior) shall justify many, For He shall bear their iniquities (which Judaism denies but the Bible teaches).
12 Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great, And He shall divide the spoil with the strong, Because He poured out His soul unto death (Israel and Judah never died), And He was numbered with the transgressors, And He bore the sin of many (which Judaism denies but the Bible teaches), And made intercession for the transgressors (as our resurrected High Priest in Heaven, at the right hand of the Ancient of Days)."
Remember Moses lifted up the snake on the pole in the wilderness and all who looked to it were saved? "...the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all...". Yeshua knew it foreshadowed His death.
John 3:14
"And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up...".
Yeshua took all the sins of Israel and Judah and the world upon Himself on the stake as THE Suffering Servant, crucified for all mankind - ONE whose life meant more than all, died that the nation might live, as the High Priest prophesied in His day:
John 11:50
"... it is expedient for us that one man should die for the people, and not that the whole nation should perish."
The entire nation wasn't crucified, wasn't upon the pole, but Yeshua is the One who we're to look up to and perceive that He is the Pierced One who is our Lord and Savior, our Priest and King, the One who has died in our stead:
Genesis 22:13
"Then Abraham lifted his eyes and looked, and there behind him was a ram caught in a thicket by its horns. So Abraham went and took the ram, and offered it up for a burnt offering instead of his son."
Joseph's brethren were also blind to his identity his first appearance before them. The second time their eyes were opened to recognize His revealed identity.
Zechariah foresees Judah and Jerusalem will learn to look up and recognize the ram Yeshua as the Firstborn Son of God and Savior-King of Judah and mourn their former rejection of Him and prepare for His imminent arrival to liberate Jerusalem and save klal Yisrael, as encouraged by the Two Witnesses (in the spirit of Elijah) who announce the coming of our King (Zech. 12:8, Matt. 23:39).

10 "And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn."

Like dumb sheep to the slaughter, most of mankind continues to blindly follow pagan traditions, rather than obey God's clear commands (Mark 7:7).
Has it ever occurred to those stuffing their faces with Easter ham that Jesus would puke at the thought? Neither Jesus or Peter, James or John ever ate forbidden foods. They wouldn't feel too comfortable at plenty of people's dinner tables.
Even the early Gentile converts to Jewish Christianity respected the biblical dietary laws (Acts 15:20), understanding that not all animal flesh is good food, that not all foods are sanctioned by the Creator in the Holy Scriptures (1Timothy 4:5).
When John the Baptist recognized Jesus as our Passover sacrifice, he declared: "Behold the Lamb of God" (John 1:29). He didn't say, "Here comes the Easter Bunny!" Again, like the Easter ham, the Easter rabbit is also rejected in the Bible as an abomination (Leviticus 11:6-7).
The very name of Easter exposes itself as a heathen festival, although it's cloaked as "Christian." Easter/Ishtar/Astarte is the Babylonian spring goddess our British-Israelite forefathers foolishly worshipped. Hence the fertility symbols of rabbits and eggs.
God isn't fooled by such baptized paganism, such whitewashed heathen customs (Deuteronomy 12:30). He commands us to commemorate Jesus' death every Passover and recognize His atoning work of redemption as our resurrected High Priest in Heaven, unleavening our lives of sin (1 Corinthians 5:7-8).
The early Church of God followed Jesus' Jewish example for several hundred years until Gentile opposition (from false converts) threatened them with a death sentence if they didn't bow before Easter observances (the Quarto-Deciman controversy)!
A growing number now know, understand and believe the biblical account that we're to observe Passover and that Jesus was resurrected before sunrise Sunday, "when it was yet dark" (John 10:1).
Others prefer to reject this light of understanding to remain in their traditional darkness and die in their sins (John 3:19) -- it's that serious! Because if our nations don't repent of such idolatry and immorality we'll soon suffer national destruction, defeat and deportation! That's why this article of faith is part of our plea to diehard Catholics and Protestants to repent.
Thankfully, every generation has those chosen few who are willing to reject holidays for holy days and "earnestly contend for the faith once delivered" (Jude 3).
Hopefully, this plain truth about Easter will cause you to question your beliefs and provide some "kosher" food for thought!

Last night I watched Bibi Netanyahu being sworn in as our Prime Minister on Israeli TV. Thirteen years ago, when I drew today's Golden Oldie, Netanyahu had just become Prime Minister for the first time. Our beleaguered and isolated little democracy had turned the reins of government over to the Likud leader. The mainstream media had primed the world to see him as a "hard-Liner" and a crazy extremist.
Another one of those cartoons that I could run today ...if I were sure that Bibi's position was still the same.

I don't know about Lipstadt, but Christianity is responsible for rivers of Jewish blood through the centuries.
In regard to WWII, where you say "It was Christians who fought and won WWII," I tell you, overall, some 300,000 Jewish soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines died serving in the armies of the UN in World War II; and nearly 1,500,000 Jewish servicemen served in the armies of the United Nations. Large numbers of Jewish scientists played a decisive role in developing the atom bomb, thus saving millions of American and allied lives from dying in an invasion of Japan with the dropping of the bomb on Hiroshima. There were hundreds of Jewish generals and admirals in the various militarys (excerpts from How many Jewish-American soldiers were killed or wounded in action in World War 2?)

For more than ten years, Israel and the Vatican have been negotiating a diplomatic agreement regarding their tax dispute over Catholic Church properties in Israel, as well as other issues over which they disagree. Though public details are sparse to nil, Foreign Ministry officials say major progress has been made – leading many to fear that the Church will be granted a political and religious foothold in the Holy Land.
Though Church officials hope the agreement will be completed before the Pope’s arrival in May, this is not certain. The Foreign Ministry’s Bahij Mansour, who heads its religious affairs section, said two weeks ago, "We are 85-90% there.”
Mansour also said that most issues still in dispute would be resolved in a meeting in April. Different reports say the meeting will take place either April 7 or April 23 - before and after Passover, respectively - and is to involve relatively high-level officials from both the Vatican and Israel’s Foreign Ministry.
The Sanhedrin, a body of 71 rabbis that is attempting to renew the ancient tradition of Judaism’s most authoritative court, has written a public letter to Israel’s leading officials, warning that any agreement regarding the transfer of national, historic, and/or religious Jewish assets to the Catholic Church will be null and void and will not be recognized by Jewish authorities. ...more

In this paper I describe the history of the secret agreements between Israel and the Vatican, how the Vatican manipulated and deceived the Jews into entering into these negotiations, how it interfered with the political process in Israel in order to gain sovereignty over Land in Israel it considers belongs to the Church; how these secret deals went on behind the back of the Jewish People and are about to be finalized before the visit of Benedict XVI to Israel; the consequences of finalizing the agreement - internationalization of Jerusalem, abandonment of Jewish sovereignty over its Divine inheritance to the Catholic Church, and permanent establishment of the Holy German Empire with the pope at its helm in Jerusalem; as well as the consequences of refusing to sign the final papers - worldwide, raging anti-Semitism, and loss of diplomatic relations with the Vatican...
Since the time of the Crusades, the Vatican had entrusted the CUSTODY of the HOLY LAND to the Franciscan Order in Jerusalem. Their function, essentially, consisted of helping the local Catholic population, as well as of watching over the properties the Church considered hers.
Now of course, let us not forget HOW those properties came about to belong to the Church in the first place: after the SACKING OF JERUSALEM BY ROME, which happened by PURE FORCE , BRUTALITY, AND UNSPEAKABLE HORRORS inflicted on the JEWISH POPULATION OF ISRAEL, the likes of which history has scant comparison for, AND AFTER ROBBING THE JEWISH PEOPLE OF ALL ITS POSSESSIONS, - the depiction of which is found to this day on the ARCH OF TITUS IN ROME, - and following the subsequent desolation of Judea, Samaria and all of the Land of Israel, various rulers assumed ownership of the Land, and felt free to trade in it as though it belonged to them, which of course it did not. STOLEN PROPERTY CANNOT BE TRADED AT WILL. TITLE TO STOLEN PROPERTY SOLD BY A THIEF IS INVALID AND ILLEGAL NO MATTER HOW YOU LOOK AT IT. For example, take Madoff’s investors: even though they unwittingly, innocently and unknowingly came to possess stolen goods, they nevertheless have to return the loot. So much cannot be stated of the Catholic Church, which knew perfectly well that the goods and real estate in Jerusalem , Judea, the Galilee, etc, were STOLEN PROPERTY, yet still claimed, and claims, ownership for it all even after 2000 years . ESAV [Esau] WILL NOT WILLINGLY RETURN THE BLESSING OF ERETZ YISRAEL [Land of Israel] TO JACOB. REMEMBER, ROME IS ESAV - and I would venture to add, ROME HAS PROVEN BY ITS BEHAVIOR THAT IT IS AMALEK AS WELL.

Let’s see to it that Philadelphia Church of God (Judah) doesn’t go the way of the Worldwide Church of God (Israel). These biblical principles still apply: don’t put undue trust in men; work out your own salvation, it’s not a group affair; beware the scholarly approach that demands you rely on men - not God’s Spirit or personal Bible study.
The above was written years ago and since then, sadly, the PCG has also proven it has failed to learn from Israel (WCG) and will go into captivity, punished for its sins.
