Is Gerald Flurry a False Prophet?

If only Gerald Flurry would apply Malachi's Message to himself, he wouldn't have the demonic audacity to anoint himself as "THAT PROPHET" (a title reserved for Jesus Christ), he would humbly hear the Sabbath-keeping Church of God members' legitimate questions and concerns about some of his teachings and dictatorial ministers (like Dennis Leap) rather than angrily "execute" them with excommunication.

Is Gerald Flurry a false prophet? Folks should beware that Gerald Flurry calls himself a prophet. He's taken to himself numerous spiritual titles like a modern day Nimrod, magnifying himself. His son Stephen Flurry sheepishly said on FOX 25 News the PCG considers Mr. Flurry speaks for God and is a prophet. I believe he does, based upon the biblical definitions of a prophet, to the extent it's solidly based upon the Bible and not his private interpretations, and that we should listen to him the same way Jesus Christ said to view the Pharisees - do as they say, but not as they do!

Gerald Flurry (through PCG tithes and offerings) bought and paid for Herbert W. Armstrong's books and booklets from the apostate Worldwide Church of God (rather than go to jail, if necessary, to continue using them without paying the devil for them at extortionate price), so at least he offers the plain truth of the Bible - on those subjects - to anybody who requests them, for free. But is that so he can fleece their soul? Is that to disarm them, to mislead them to imagine everything is kosher in his PCG kingdom, and then devour them? Is that his covering when inwardly he's a ravenous beast who has abused Church of God members' minds and attacks their critical thinking abilities as being "disloyal" to the "government of God?"

Is Gerald Flurry a wolf in sheep's clothing? It certainly appears that way, grieved to say, so I hope and pray Gerald Flurry repents of his arrogance, of his presumptuous religious titles, and remembers the truth, the excellent principles, he has written in Malachi's Message (some say it was plagiarized and it appears to have been), and bless God's people and do a great work that has substance and not just shell - vainly seeking to impress this world, becoming an enemy of God in the process - and boldly warn the world (like the watchmen are called to do) and preach the GOOD NEWS of the Kingdom of God that will save mankind from itself, rescue us from the brink of extinction, so help him God!

Otherwise, it appears this world's only hope to hear the plain truth of the Bible and history again (not that they will receive it), in a powerful way, from pure servants of God free of personal ambition and ulterior motivation, will be the brilliant testimony of the Two Witnesses soon to take an international stand in Jerusalem.

Hello David:

As a former member of the Philadelphia Church of God, I have been reviewing the "Fox25" news controversy with interest. I have read some parts of your book. You definately understand the importance of the Jews and their influence on Bible interpretation-it helps that you are a Jew yourself. Anyway, I have proof that Gerald Flurry did get his ideas for Malachi's Message from another source.

Please review the following webpages:

Gerald Flurry Plagiarism

Letter Written to Gerald Flurry About Plagiarism in September of 1990

As the above webpages prove, Jules Dervaes wrote The Letter to Laodicea and mailed it to most of the WCG ministers including Gerald Flurry BEFORE Gerald wrote Malachi's Message.

Jules Dervaes' contact information:

This is a serious sin that Gerald committed-to lie to people so that he could influence them to follow him and give him lots of money. This is the evidence that led my wife and I to warn other people in the PCG about Gerald. Of course, like you, we were disfellowshipped. The Bible reveals that even Elders, which Flurry claims to be, should be rebuked and exposed to the whole assembly of God (1 Timothy 5:19-20)

Eventually, I knew that Gerald Flurry would be exposed for building his church organization on the lie that Malachi's Message was his original idea. I love Gerald Flurry and the people in the PCG. My wife and I spent 9 years in the PCG and gave over $44,000+ in contributions. Yet, in our time of financial need, they (the church leadership) could not help us.

You are correct when you state that the focus of their "work" is wrong. I don't see anywhere in the Bible that the main focus of a true work of God should be building minister's homes, church buildings and colleges. The whole book of the prophet Haggai is about how the people were focused so much on material possessions (houses & money) and not on building the most important physical material-the Temple of God in Jerusalem.

It is obvious that Gerald Flurry's treasure is not in heaven but on earth-specifically in Edmond, OK (Luke 12:33-34). His mind is on the things of this earth in Edmond, OK. The Bible clearly reveals that the JOY of the whole earth is Jerusalem NOT Edmond, OK (Psalm 48:1-2; 137:5-6). Our focus on a physical structure should be the Temple Mount NOT physical structures that we build for worship in the United States and worldwide. We should be seeking & desiring the things in heaven NOT on the earth (Colossians 3:1-2).

The physical Temple of God is a representation or shadow of the Temple of God in heaven (Hebrews 8:5; Revelation 11:19) The Temple of God on earth is linked with the Temple of God in heaven. Some of our contributions should go to the Temple Institute in Jerusalem to help support them in their efforts to build the Temple. The Temple of God, NOT The Philadelphia Church of God in Edmond, OK, should be a place of prayer and worship for all the nations (Isaiah 56:7).

God states that PURE religion is helping the widows, orphans and fatherless and keeping yourself from the evil ways of this world (James 1:27).

We should love people that are not part of our fellowhip, our enemies and even feed them. (Matthew 5:43-48; Romans 12:20) The PCG does not teach the doctrine of "loving your neighbor as you love yourself" in the correct way to the PCG members. Messiah reveals that your neighbor is your fellow human being (Luke 10:29-37).

We work so that we can help those that are in need; that are weak. (Ephesians 4:28; Acts 20:35) Ultimately, when we give to the poor & afflicted (which includes TRUE Torah teachers) we are building treasure in heaven; we are giving to God. (Mark 10:21; Luke 12:15-21,33-34; Matthew 25:31-40)

Gerald is right in observing the Sabbath and the Holy Days of God (Leviticus 23) to the best of their knowledge. He is right that the world will soon be dominated by a European influenced power. That there is a Great Tribulation that is coming that will lead to the return of Messiah.

What he does not either understand or accept is the significant role of the Jews in the plan of God which you explain in your book. After all, Messiah did state that salvation is of the Jews (John 4:22). The 1st century assembly (church) was Jewish. Messiah is a Jew.

Soon, the Temple of God will be rebuilt in Jerusalem. As Yeshua stated in Matthew 24:15, the abomination of desolation is associated with a physical temple (Revelation 11:1-3).

As you know, you can't disagree with Gerald Flurry even when you have proof that he is preaching false doctrine (for example-that he is "That Prophet" which is a title for Yeshua Messiah - John 6:14).

Gerald and many other self-proclaimed ministers of God don't understand that it is not the goal of the minister to become wealthy/rich off the people's tithes & contributions (1 Samuel 8:3; 1 Timothy 3:3, 8; 1 Timothy 6:5-10; Titus 1:7, 11; 1 Peter 5:2).

Some of the apostles' had secular jobs while they were preaching. Most of them were poor (they did not have great possessions - 1 Corinthians 4:9-13). In the Bible, ministers are described as being poor [not having great possessions]. (2 Corinthians 6:4, 10)

When we give to TRUE Torah teachers, we should be giving to support their basic necessities, not a lifestyle of the rich and famous. (1 Timothy 6:8; 1 Peter 5:1-2) And, the people should not give so much that they are burdened and can't pay their bills & general living expenses that are necessary for survival (Matthew 15:3-9; 1 Timothy 5:8; 2 Corinthians 8:12-15; Matthew 23:14). Unfortunately, my wife and I sacrificed so much for Gerald Flurry that we filed for Chapter 13bankruptcy.

I have e-mailed Nick Winkler of Fox25 in Oklahoma about the Letter of Laodecia and how Flurry got his ideas from it.

Also, please check out what I believe to be the most comprehensive information on Gerald Flurry on the Internet-it reveals his deception in detail:

The Plain Truth About Malachi's Message and THAT PROPHET

Obviously, the reason why Gerald tells his followers not to read anything on the Internet, in books & booklets that is against him and the PCG is because he is afraid of being exposed. Well, Messiah did state that whatever is done in secret will be revealed (Matthew 10:26; 1 Timothy 5:24).

Sincerely,

Kennard
Servant of God

Thank you Kennard for your comments. I had heard that before about Flurry plagiarizing MM. Why couldn't he have just admitted he took it and ran with it and given credit where credit was due?

You are definitely right about the Temple and the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.

Consider, if you please, the articles I've written about the Third Temple. at the section of my website called the Third Temple.

May God bless His people Israel and Judah, and the scattered Church of God.
